...when you have to ID yourself to a cop and cross police tape to enter your own home.
No clue what happened ( Nothing on the news yet ), street in front of my house and the house across the street are all taped off and they have roadblocks with cars on this street and the alley behind the house across the street....
I'm assuming its bad since I was asked if I was at home last night around such and such a time. ><

I live accross the street from a high school. just as school was letting out yesterday I look out the window for no real reason but to see what the weather is like. I see 5 or 6 cop cars and an ambulance, paramedics treating somone on the ground covered up but still appearing to be alive. the cop cars are parked righ in front of my place and I am thinking "damn are they going to let me out so I can go to work?????" initially I thought some one got hit by a car (ya know how some teenagers are - think immortal) becasue there was a regualr car right next to the person on the ground. they disprused about half an hour later.
I found out later that there was a big fight after school and someone got knocked to the ground and busted their head open. just glad I did not have go through a police line in front of my place

Still only a passing mention in the news. Only details they have is there was some sort of domestic dispute at the house across the street last night and someone was shot to death. ><

Wonderful. Not.
I came home to 3 marked and one unmarked cop car in the parking lot.
Since I've only lived here two weeks - what a way to say "Welcome to the Neighbourhood! "
My sympathies.

At least you weren't home when it happened! Goodness only knows what could have happened if you were in the neighbourhood :(

Wow GK can you get a headmounted camera for your life? Between the things you go throuhg at work and the real world it definately sounds like you might be able to get a network deal out of it.

I don't think it'd be quite as exciting as you'd hope.

A quarter of the estate was taped off a bit ago - police on duty wouldn't tell me what was going on. Turned out to be a woman-on-woman stabbing after a 'crime of passion'. I translated this to chavs doing what chavs do best (apart from drinking cheap cider and wearing tracksuits).

If I recall correctly chavs is the European equivalent of white trash?
Haven't been able to drudge up much more info so far though I did see my house on the news from the news copter fly over. Thats always nice.
Apparently an hour after I left for work there was yelling and shots from the house. Cops showed up in force and found some guy bleeding to death. He died in hospital. Now they're trying to find the killer.
It was the white trash grow op house a few blocks down. ( Every neighbourhood seems to have that one white trash/grow op house around here... ). I guess they busted a grow op there 6 years ago and the power had been cut to the house because of it. But the scumlord that owns it kept renting it to some guy that just used a generator.
Cops haven't released any more details yet.

Indeed they are, though there are regional differences in what they drink, how they dress, and what particular curse words they prefer.

how they dress,
If I may be so bold?
(sod it, I'll take that as a yes)
From the top down
Either Cheapo brand deerstalker hat/ faux burberry baseball cap (with tag (real or otherwise) still attached
Dark tracksuit, normally Lonsdale or Addidas (or again knock off from the car boot)
Under the tracksuit top will normally be a Fred Perry polo shirt (origins unspecified)
Black lace up shoes and black socks to finish the ensemble.

Ah, around here Burberry is not seen. I'm sure it's regional.
The tracksuits, though, appear to be universal. I suspect it's mostly worn because it's simple to wear.

The tracksuit also has the following advantages
You don't get too hot whilst running (from the police)
It allows you to contort your movements whilst running (from the police)
It allows you to vault walls etc whilst running (from the police)
My, my. European white trash is more sophisticated than American white trash.
At least Wisconsin white trash.
Around here, the males wear "wife beaters" (those white tanktops for men and the ones I wear to bed). Well, they aren't really white anymore. The ones they wear are several years old, full of sweat stains and mustard and honey sauce stains. The men either have mullets or rat tails....some are just bald. Usually have some sort of Nazi symbol tattoos or tattoos of naked women.
The other type of Wisconsin male white trash are guys that wear overly baggy pants or sweat pants with XXXXXXXXL size shirts and really long necklaces.
The females.....we won't even go there. It would take too long.

Well given whats on network tv right now I wouldnt place a bet against someone finding it entertaining. I mean look at half the stuff on you tube and the other waste's of bandwidth.....
