So you guys already know about some of my..."friends" who work opposite shifts that I do, and they annoy me by calling me at all hours of the day while I'm trying to sleep.

What makes it worse is when people who work MY OWN shift do it too!

I made a new friend last week at work.....and I understand that when you work 3rd shift, you have two options: sleep right away when you get home and wake up early afternoon, or you can stay awake till early afternoon and sleep until about 9 or 10 and go to work.

I sleep from about 9:30 to 6:30....yes, a bit much, but I need my sleep.

My new little friend called me at 10:00 am, 12:00, and 2:00.......and I refused to answer every time.

It's official....this weekend, I am going to buy an alarm clock. No getting out of it. And while I sleep, I am putting my phone on vibrate or turning it completely off.

Get a clue people....

Welcome to my world. Except all my friends all agree. Any of us call each other during bad times, which coincendtly is alot of the time, the other amass and hurt the offender by taking his games or books.

Thankfully we can still chat during good times, and always get together Saturday.

Though I sleep so rarely for the most part, I don't mind getting a call cause then I can do something.

this is why my friends know to text me. If I'm awake I'll hear it, if not it won't wake me up. Course one friend has permission to call whenever but he's kinda earned it.

I'd start putting your foot down with people from the start and let them know when you are sleeping. Have you tried telling these people not to call you or do you just not answer? They might not realize that you regularly sleep at the same time each day.

Well, I know during the week I usually only sleep about three or four hours a night, if that, and then get 10-11 hours on weekend nights...probably not the healthiest thing but it works for me. But I know that just because I'm awake at 4 in the morning that no one else I know is. Your "friends" are just jackasses.

I'm kind of like a child or an old person. I can't function with no sleep. As bad as it sounds, I've called in sick to work once or twice when I lived at my old apartment and I couldn't sleep because of the neighbors or maintenance guy.

I'm astounded that so many people I work with can live off 1-3 hours of sleep or less a day.

Yes, everyone knows when I sleep. I make it pretty clear. But most people are ignorant and say "You don't need to sleep that much". No, of course I don't. Why wouldn't I want to sacrifice sleep to talk to YOU? I mean, I just love trying to sleep and hear my phone go off and then I can't get back to sleep.

When the glorious day comes that I can go back to day shifts, I'll take it. Until then, I'll just get back at most offenders by calling them at 3:00 am and ignoring my phone during the day.

When I worked 3rd shift, I always had my phone on vibrate. If I didn't, then I would be awaken because of coworkers.
