With Raps permission, I am wondering if there is a travel agent in the house who might be able to get me any kind of deal on my flight to see my sons and their families out in Arizona. Money is going to be tight so the cheaper the better.
I'll start by saying that the best price I can find on either the airlines or the online travel places (Travelocity, Expedia, etc.) is $223. Here are the particulars.
1. I prefer late May as that is right in the middle of both my son's birth dates and it will coincide with a remodel that the laundromat where I work will be happening. Departure, ideally would be May 19, 20 or 21, staying for a week.
2. The flight would be from Pittsburgh, PA to Tucson, AZ. The number of stops is of no concern to me. I would prefer a window seat on every portion of the trip as I sometime get nauseous when flying if I'm not at the window. Normally I would fly into Phoenix and take the shuttle down to Tucson but the price of gas has made that option not as appealing as it used to be.
3. It matters not what time I would leave PIT, but I would prefer to get into Tucson at a decent hour (anytime before 8 pm local time) so that I can catch public transportation to my son's home so as not to bother them with picking me up at the airport. Similarly, on my return to PIT from TUS, I would like to be able to catch public transportation, but in Pittsburgh, this means an earlier arrival time so I can catch the 3 buses needed to get me home. 6 PM should be adequate.
4. The airline doesn't matter, nor is aircraft size any concern. As a matter of fact, I prefer smaller planes but the jumbo's are ok as well. I prefer not to be in the escape rows, but if that is the only place a window seat is available, this is OK.
5. I won't be able to pay for the tickets until the middle of April so please take this into consideration. I will be using my credit card to purchase the tickets.
6. (and last) Northwest Airlines flies out of Latrobe, PA (LBE) and if I can catch a flight out of there for a decent price, and therefor saving all of the bus fare to go all the way to PIT, that would be wonderful. I'd rather not spend 4.5 hours on 3 buses to go the 70 miles from the airport to my home. Plus, parking is free at LBE and I could just drive my car and park it there.
As per Raps' request, please PM me with any pricing. I would think it would be OK to ask any questions here, but I check my private messages frequently so either would be OK with me.
Lastly, thank you in advance for any help and I hope I didn't complicate it too badly for you.
Thanks,
Jim
