Okay, we've had trivia quizzes on movies, tv, songs, etc. I figured, why not a little booze trivia?
Every question and answer below has something to do with alcoholic beverages. Good luck. My apologies to the teetotalers here....this may be tougher for you. Oh, and I hope it goes without saying, no googling or any other such shenanigans? :D
Cheers!
1. The oldest trademarked logo in the world belongs to what beer?
2. Bulmer’s is the manufacturer of an excellent adult beverage, but it is known to all who drink it by this name....what is it?
3. Steinlager beer is from what country?
4. There are actually TWO brewers in the world that make a beer called "Budweiser." The original and first Budweiser is brewed where?
5. Fris vodka is made in what country?
6. Woodford Reserve is what kind of beverage, and is made where?
7. Giacomo Justerini and Alfred Brooks were responsible for bringing us what adult spirit?
8. Mixing Bailey's Irish Cream and lime juice results in what cocktail?
9. Caipirinhas are the national drink of Brazil. What liquor is used in the making of a caipirinha? Think carefully before you answer this one!
10. Of those currently in operation, what is the oldest brewery in the U.S.?
Have fun with this, kids......and bottoms up!

Damn it! Two people already answered 4, and that's the only one I know!
I can tell you that the name Budweiser comes from "Budweis", which is the German name for the Czech city of Ceske Budejovice. Can't pronounce it? Have a few Buds; it'll be easier.

Seven have been answered correctly. Three remain without correct answers.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) night I shall post the correct answers and who got them.

1. No one got this. The answer is, of course, Bass beer. They registered their red triangle logo way back in 1876.
2. No one got this one either. Bulmer's is the manufacturer of one of the more popular English hard ciders (at least in the U.S.), Strongbow.
3. Irateguy and Subway Girl both knew that Steinlager is from New Zealand.
4. Irateguy, Spiffy McMoron, and Subway Girl all knew that the first "Budweiser," which is still being brewed, comes to us from the Czech Republic.
5. hopie144 and Subway Girl both knew that Fris vodka is from Denmark.
6. hopie144 and Subway Girl also both knew that Woodford Reserve is one of the lovelier bourbons in the world, and by definition, being a bourbon, had to come from the State of Kentucky.
7.No one knew that Giacomo Justerini and Alfred Brooks were the guiding forces behind J&B Scotch. One person knew it was scotch, but seemed to think that these men were responsible for scotch in general, which is very not true.
8. Spiffy McMoron, hopie144 and Supway Girl all knew that the mixture of Bailey's and lime juice would result in the dreadful joke drink, the Cement Mixer. Do NOT drink this. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
9. hopie144 knew that cachaca is the liquor used in making Brazil's national drink, the caipirinha.
10. Draftermatt and Subway Girl both knew that Yuengling is the oldest brewery in America, having started operations in 1829, and continuing to this day. (I myself had 3 lovely Yuengling Lagers this evening.)
The winner of this quiz hands down is Subway Girl, with six correct. Congratulations, Subway Girl, you are probably as much of a drunk as I am! :drink:

I know it as BJ Revenge, thanks to somebody on Livejournal who tricked her ex into drinking it just as she broke up with him.

With that one, I thought that you had to lick salt first (a la tequila shots) for it to be called a BJ Revenge. If you don't know why you need to add salt, I'm the wrong peron to explain it to you. :ashamed:

Some time back, the crew I used to hang with threw a 21st birthday party for a guy.
One of the "celebratory" drinks was to give him a cement mixer with the admonition that the proper way to "enjoy" it involves swishing it in your mouth before swallowing.
He asked for and downed a second. 0.ô

Y'see, this confused the hell out of me because there is a brand called 'Bulmers' and I thought it was one of those two obvious to be true questions... (anyway, Westons is better! :D)
