and my entire goal was to go home, be domestic and stuff..

So I'm at work get text from my ex asking if/when I'm going to be over for the kids. It's not my night to have them, so I send back "Why" and I get "No reason"..ok...

So I get done work, go straight there. I don't even get to his parking lot, see the drunk/crazy neighbor I've had a few runs in with holding my daughter. I pull over on the side of the road, ask what's going on, my daughter is bawling. I grab my daughter, here the neighbor's dog was tied to a tree while the kids were out playing and it bit my daughter. I take her into the house. I'm telling him what happened, he tells me that the dog just bit the neighbor's dog and it needed stitches. Ok so I see red, here is a dog that just bit so badly another dog needed stitches and it's tied outside unattended. So, I get out my phone to call the cops..at that very moment there's someone pounding on the patio door..I think it's the nutty neighbor..nope, it's my son's version of The Little Red Headed Girl (Charlie Brown..).

My son is outside on the ground laying under a a tree screaming. I run over he says "My arm is broken" Ex says "How do you figure?". I look, son's arm is bent sideways & backwards. He was standing on one of those patio chairs that's barely safe to sit in, half up a tree, trying to tie up a rope swing for the LRHG. I grab my son, get my ex's keys (I figure there is no way he's going to be able to get up into my jeep) and off to the hospital we go..several hours, some blockers, morphine, several rounds of X Rays and setting the bones twice (he broke both the bones in his arm), a trip to the 24 hour pharmacy and a car swap later we're home, he has to go see another surgeon Wednesday after the swelling goes down to see where we go from here, hopefully just to a cast..and I wondered why I was getting the kids tonight..

I'll see the cops tomorrow..

 :jawdrop:   :soapbox: :pissed:

If those were my kids, the ex would never see their shining little faces again! :pissed: How irresponsible! No, that doesn't even describe it! GAH! :runaway:

:( That's okay dear, relax and calm down. Take things one step at a time, and how's your kids? Are they okay?

(I know, complete 180 here. I think I have split personality disorder. )

They're as good as can be, daughter was more shaken up then anything, no serious damage done (but a dog bit her..a dog that bit before bit her..). Son is doped up and sleeping.

Not intending to make fun of a serious situation, or hijack the thread, but the part where your son hurt himself trying to do something for his little (girl)friend makes me think of a cute song by Chris Cagle called "Chicks Dig It"
first Verse:
Hey y'all...watch this
Daddy's belt
Momma's drapes
Standin' tall on the
Backyard shed
Lookin' cool in my superman cape
I told the neighborhood girl
Said hey y'all watch this
My fate was a broken arm
My reward one big kiss
When daddy asked me why I did it
I made him laugh out loud when I told him
'Cause the chicks dig it

That song is so perfectly fitting..

My son laughed at his orders from me to "Sit here relax and watch TV" I have him on my nice cushy love seat with a pillow on the armrest to keep his arm up, he's swelling up pretty badly (not keeping his arm up like he should be), we go see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow morning first thing.

I was told mine was the second complaint on that dog in less then 24 hours, seems it (being untied and unattended at that point) went after someone that was walking their leashed dog as well..I (being an animal lover and dog owner) feel for the dog at this point.

Get the records from the doctor and a copy of the police report.
DOCUMENT THE ISSUES.

I don't know what the situation between you and Ex is, but if you want to change the custody agreement, this would be PERFECT ammo to do so.

Where was Ex during the munchkin's playing? *grr* Do some follow up with the landlords and police - and get this documented.

PS Which arm did little guy bust? Left or Right?

Well he's now sporting a nice full arm cast, the good news is they said they have it set well enough after today that nothing more is needed, just more xrays in two weeks to check how it's healing. He's a lefty so of course that's the arm that was broken..

I paid a visit to the ex's landlord, after some confusion (I started out with "I don't live here, but I've a serious complaint about one of your tenants"), they took my complaint and said they would handle it. It happened my ex went into the office for other reasons later and they told him about my visit (yay ) and that they've had enough with his neighbor and she'll be asked to leave and/or evicted by the end of next month.

I find it interesting that his daughter was bit by his neighbor's dog and you are the one who had to talk to his landlord...:(

I'm glad your son is doing well and your daughter wasn't hurt. Did the bite break the skin at all? I assume the neighbor has proof the dog's shots are up-to-date?

Anyway, Big    and some ice cream for all three of ya!
