Age of Conan?

Comes out next month ( May 20th ). Anyone planning on mucking with it? I may pick it up, if only because its the only MMO with an M Rating. For violence, gore, sexual themes and nudity no less. Definately won't be any WoW kiddies around. ) and a fundamentally different combat system ( Not just a hotbar click fest. ). It's also not yet another MMO about elves and gnomes. since its based on the books. It's apparently more apathetic with insidious elder gods and virgin sacrifices. -.-

My never ending quest to find something to do till Warhammer comes out continues. I can only play so much Exteel and LOTRO, while pretty, just hasn't really grabbed me in any way shape or form. I mean, its a good game but at its core its just yet another MMO using the same gameplay as every other MMO before it.

Me and a couple friends are thinking of giving it a go when it comes out next month.

Well if the screen shots from both are any indication Warhammer is the bikini to Conan's nipples and loincloths.

But Warhammer was pushed back again till the Fall. What am I suppose to do till then? ;p

Age of Conan may work, however I am waiting for Darkfall Online to come out to replace Eve Online. AoC does have its good qualities but Darkfall does what they are doing supposedly better so we can wait and see.

The hubby's planning on getting Conan, I think. He's been playing DDO and WOW, but I think he is really waiting for Conan.

I might pick it up for him for our anniversary on May 22.

If anyone subscribes to fileplanet they are supposed to be having beta keys available sometime soon. I'm gonna give the beta a whirl and see if its enough to keep me occupied until warhammer.

They'll be a few, but I'll have free license to traumatized them because they shouldn't be in an M rated game and mommy and daddy won't be able to complain. Since they're the ones that let them on. ;p

Warhammer is a maybe... I've heard mixed reviews and I'm kinda ticked at the lack of Bretonnians. If it wasn't for the Greenskins I wouldn't even be looking at that.

Supposedly, there will be more Beta signups May 2 for Conan. Not much more info than that ATM. I'm going to try to get in. If I do, I'll post the name I use if anyone wants to look me up. :)

I think I'm going to try it out. A bunch of my WoW guildies are giving it a shot. From what I saw of the trailers and stuff it should be pretty interesting.

I'm sick of the WoW game model being used as the base for every now mmo though.

Earlier this evening people were comparing the installed folder size between WoW and Age of Conan. AoC takes up about 3G more space. It was joked that it's due to the nipple animation.

Note that this is the difference between WoW after three years, with numerous updates, patches, and a full-fledged expansion (8+ GB); and a new beta installof AoC, which is likely not even the full game (11 GB).

TTO just got his Age of Conan a few hours ago. Barely been able to get a word out of him since... *sigh*
so far he's enjoying it, and the graphics are okay...and some of the sounds his female hero makes are a bit...weird.
Plus, the villains seem a little easy - but that's probably only coz he's level 3.

Well, it IS Conan after all...where alot of those fantasy stereotypes of women in chainmail bikinis got started. ;)

I've got it, but due to gaming convention, I won't be on this weekend. I'll post when I have a solid character started on the open servers. Probably an Assasin or Ranger.

Sidenote: Roommate is facinated by what happens when you take off all the clothes of a female character. Said it's like playing a game based on Frazetta paintings. If you see someone in just a leather loincloth, thigh-boots and a claymore, it's probably him. :rolleyes:

It's surprisingly hard to find around here. It seems to sell out pretty quick.
