Yo! This is from my hometown. Decently close to my work too. Don't know the lady though. What they negate to mention that they did in the paper was the intruder had a criminal rap-sheet the size of a football field, attempted murder/drugs/breaking and entering etc. So in my own opinion, he deserved what he got. Though she'll likely get charged with manslaughter. As a nurse she should know when someone is knocked out from lack of air. To keep going til they're dead is another. She was also not that frazzled by it apperently.

Yep that's what happens when people insist on being anally pragmatic. I've always said it's stupid to follow the law literally word for word, letter-by-letter because then the law that was enacted to protect the people and instead it ends up harboring criminals.

It's a sad thing that a woman alone inside her own home should have to deal with an intruder at all.

It's not sad that no other women will have to be victimized by this person. Hooray, actually. This guy would have harmed her, no doubt. I'm glad she was able to defend herself, as well as the next woman or three this asshole would have victimized.

Were I in her shoes, I dont' think I would have let go of his throat, either. He might be faking. He might get back up at some point, pissed off. No, I think I'd hold on till his eyes turned into X's. :(

Interresting twist indeed, last I heard, she wasn't being charged and the husband is facing charges of attempted murder.
