Taxi Tipping?

We live in a small city and thus have little experience with taxis. My husband is going to Dallas for a business meeting next week and will have to use taxis a couple times; he would like to know how much is a good tip for a taxi driver.

I generally figure 15% and round up to the nearest dollar - the exception being if I'm deadheading the driver for his return trip, where I would go to 20%. I would also go to twenty if they are handling bags, etc. (tell him not to forget the porters and bellhops!)

dallas does have a decent transportation system downtown. see if that's something he can look into versus taxi's. will be much cheaper.
