Yes, I completed the half-marathon this morning! All the training and hard work was sooo worth it for this!!

I figured my time would be around 2 hours, 20 minutes, but was hoping to finish closer to 2:15, so I got in with the group being led by the 2:15 pace bunny. I figured that if I couldn't hold the pace I could always drop back a bit.

I did keep up - I think it helped that they were doing the 'run 10 mins, walk 1 min', which I've never done, but heard that it gives you a quicker pace. It sure the heck did, cuz my finish time was **drumroll and trumpet fanfare, please** -- 2:13:20! I did better than I ever dreamed I could!!! And I never even pushed myself to the limit - it was an easy, fun run almost all the way! We all chatted, told jokes, etc - good times!

When I finally saw my time posted, I jumped around and screamed - I was so excited! Actually, I still am extremely pumped, and don't even feel tired at all! A bit sore in a few areas, but not tired!

I can hardly wait till next year - I'm so addicted to this that about 2/3 of the way through, I decided that I'm already in for next year, and have my goal set, too - I hope to finish around 2 hours!

Crazy lady, eh? Start running half-marathons at the age of 45! But, you know what? I really do love to run, so why not do it?!

T, my fiance, finished in 2:02:29, but was hoping for closer to 1:45. Considering the fact that he had his right big toenail removed just over a week ago, and hasn't been able to train properly for over a month because of the infection in the nail, he did awesome. I'm not sure I'd've had the guts to run after a toenail removal! He says he's really proud of me, and I'm really proud of him, so it's all good!

How far in miles was it? I am thinking of getting back in running shape again. I have never joinded in one but if I can get back into running, I shouldn't have any trouble. If I can get back to 4 miles in around 30 min then I have a chance again.

Oh and congratulations. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_75.gif

13.1 miles. Congrats on completing it. I will be running one soon, and hopefully a marathon after that.

Congrats on finishing.

If you see me running that means three things, I've run out of ammunition, broke my knife, and whatever is after is too big to fight hand-to-hand.

Thanks for all the congrats, ppl! It gives me warm fuzzies :)

I'm still totally pumped, hyper and happy. I am feeling the soreness in more places today, though!

It's still hard to believe that I only started running in June 2005; and managed to train so well this summer, even with 2 jobs, that I could achieve such a good time in my first ever race of any kind - it's just crazy!

I do feel kinda lost cuz it's all over and I don't have a rigorous training schedule anymore... *sighs* I guess I'll have to replace it with something else for the fall and winter...
