Yesterday I went with my husband to see "Iron Man", which also included a trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie. On the drive home my husband made a startling (well, a cute) confession.
When he was in kindergarten, the teachers asked the class what they wanted to be when they grew up. He answered, "An astronaut, or Indiana Jones."
In first grade the teachers asked the same question, and he answered, "An astronaut, a genetic engineer, or Indiana Jones."
Well, at least he got to do one of those things (he is a biochemist, i.e. a genetic engineer)!
I know we'll be going to see the new Indy movie!

I wanted to drive a tank. I wasn't sure how you drove a tank or how you became a tank driver. But I wanted to drive a tank.
It was a simple dream influenced by too many GI Joe toys.
I think I swapped career options to Ninja or Samurai by the time TMNT came out. ;p

Howdja like Iron Man? I thought Bridges was great.
Did you notice the IJ sequence where someone is driving Indiana on a motorcycle? Made me think immediately of Harrison driving Sean Connery around. :) I'm glad he likes doing these movies - I strongly suspect this'll be the swan song :(
GK - Not to date myself too much, but I wanted to be Kato when I grew up. (Bruce Lee's character in the TV series "The Green Hornet.") Close to a ninja before any USians knew what a ninja was.....

Please tell me "Iron Man" is good. I'm going to try to talk hubby into taking me on Friday for my birthday.
I'm more into the comic movies than he is, but even he says it looks pretty cool.

Haven't seen it yet but I've heard its really good from the pre-screenings. Wouldn't mind seeing it but I'm A) Crippled and B) Alone. =p

It was amazingly good. I highly doubt you'll regret going. I've seen it twice already and should be going again with another friend at a later date.
Oh GK I'm sure there's lots of girls who'd be willing to travel hundreds, even thousands of miles to come see a movie with you :)
My personal opinion is I don't like all these new versions of stuff....Dukes of Hazzard, Hulk, Bionic Woman....granted I wasn't even born when half of them were originally made, but I've seen them.
The day they re-do Sanford and Son I'll probably go criminally insane.

Iron Man is an excellent film, and probably truer to the comic than almost any other comic movie I've seen (The Punisher...BOTH of them >shudder<). Be sure to stay after the credits for a special appearance by Nick Fury! :)

Now, if only they can keep <spoiler!> as Nick Fury, my inner fanboy could be complete. :D
Iron Man was really, really good. They kept the spirit of the comic, and Paltrow nailed the Pepper Potts character. I was also happy that the special effects supplimented the movie, but weren't the whole movie. If I had to say something bad about it, it would have to be the villain acting at the end was kinda ham-handed. But, nothing to take away from the movie. See it on the big screen, as I think the impact will be lessened on a TV.

BWAHAHA!! I, too, wanted to be Indiana Jones! Or a Supreme. Or a drag queen.
I will say that Iron Man was awesome, but I had a hard time accepting that The Dude works at a weapons manufacturer. That just doesn't seem like his thing, man.

That was already a re-make of a British sitcom called Steptoe and Son. (Just like The Office, Ultraviolet, Life On Mars...)
