My 5 month old fur baby Coby was hit by a car this afternoon  My 4 year old opened the gate to go out and Coby shot out the gate, across the street and straight in front of the car.
She has bad lacerations to her front leg and her hind legs, the vet doesn't think anything is broken but he will do xrays to make sure and to see if there are any internal injuries, she's been put on a drip, given pain meds and cleaning up her leg, she'll be there for a few days, he said he'd call me tonight or tomorrow morning to tell me how she is doing.
I feel sorry for the poor guy who hit her, there was no way he could have stopped in time and he apologized 20 times, told him it was ok and an accident, at the time all i wanted to do was get her to the vet.
Anyway, this happened 2 and a half hours ago and i'm missing her like crazy, i just pray she'll be ok, i'm putting on a brave face.

Ouch, what a horrible thing to go though but it sounds like the puppy will make it. Puppies are very tough despite their delicate appearance. We had a rescue puppy once that had a broken leg, it didn't stop her one bit and the wrapping up the shelter did with bandages (no casts) was enough to let it heal.
The puppy sounds lucky, lacerations can easily heal especially since you got her to a vet quickly. Chances are you'd know it if the puppy had something broken and it doesn't sound like the puppy was hit too hard.

Your puppy sounds like he'll pull through. Thankfully, when he does, he'll be smart enough to remember to avoid the street like that.

I know your sad now, and missing your puppy, but rest assured your pup will be fine. The injuries you described sound like what my dog earned she took on a car. At the time she was only a year old, this past month she celebrated her 16th birthday.
 to you and yours, just know that pup will be home soon. A little sore and a whole lot smarter.

Aww is so terrible when a puppy gets hurt. Bless her, hopefully she'll be back to 100% soon.

UPDATE :
The vet just rang, there are no broken bones or internal injuries, she has torn the tendon in her front leg which he can repair and she has three legs bandaged up, but she up and walking a little bit.
Vet will keep her on the drip and antibiotics and she can come home either Monday or Tuesday, Yay, she's coming home, she going to get sooo many kisses and cuddles and all the fresh chicken she can handle lol
I think i'll be scared to look at the vet bill

We got her home yesterday, she has a cone around her neck to stop her licking the wounds on her tummy and hind leg, she has a bright pink bandage on her front leg, a green bandage on the back leg, creams, antibiotics and I have to take her back to the vet often to have the bandages changed
She spent the night sleeping in the kids room on a blanket amongst all their stuffed toys, she's had alot of attention and she's lapping it up :)
All up it cost $500, but she's worth every cent.
