Last night I was attempting to play my Pharaoh game and it kept spazzing out on me; the last time it not only shut itself down, it shut my *friggin' computer* down (not all the way, it just booted me off) too. That freaked me out badly because I was worried that it was a remote hack (hackers can do EVIL EVIL things like take control of your computer and program it to essentially kill itself off). But I was able to sign back on and play my game...after much swearing, panicking and ranting.

Speaking of suicide, there was a guy here in town who killed himself a couple of weeks ago, and today I found out where it was - a house right down the street from me. I pass by it every time I walk to the downtown convenience store. O.o Evidently a neighbor came by to give my mom some extra radishes from his garden (my dad likes those) and in the course of conversation told my mom that this older guy (late 60s - early 70s) had gotten up in the middle of the night and taken off his head with a 20-gauge shotgun. Apparently both of his folks had had Alzheimer's (horrible, horrible disease; my maternal grandmother was done in by it) really bad and he feared he was going the same way. :(

Damn, sorry to hear that. :( I know about the horror that is Alzheimers and senility. My grandmother has been on the senile side for 10 years. We noticed it back then when she started asking the same questions over and over again. Now with the meds she takes for her senility, she's blind and can barely care for herself anymore. My grandfather can't since he's 81, so we have a nurse that comes in their home and takes care of her and she's 78 years old. The worst part is knowing that sooner or later that when my family and I go back home, more than likely it won't be for pleasurable circumstances. It's incredibly difficult to take in the reality that the person I once knew as my Oma is completely gone....Sorry if I went :ot: and/or threadjacked.
