We took a Field Trip of sorts the other day to the Clearwater Aquarium where we went on an educational cruise and met some interesting creatures. Our favorite, of course, was the dolphins!
The dolphin I'm showcasing here is Winter.
Winter was caught in a fishing net when she was just a baby and she lost her tail to it. She was rescued and lives at the aquarium. She has a prostetic tail fin that she uses but she did not have it on while we were there.
The research that went into her tail's creation has inspired new research into prostetic limbs and she has inspired people all over the world.
As you can see in one of the photos she swims very well anyway. She also comes and 'sits' on the ledge to rest periodically. She likes to be taked to and loves posing for pictures!
