I don't know what to do. This kitten will not shit in the box. I have gotten rid of all of the other kittens. Vasquez goes outside, she doens't even use it. Patches rarely uses it. She also goes outside. But it is here just in case. Tiny is the one that is driving me crazy. This morning he just went on the rug in front of the kitchen, right in front of me, I watched him go. He keeps this up he had better start sprouting wings. There is no other cats using the box and it is new. If you sit him in it, he will panic and jump out of it as if it were on fire. He will go all around it but not in it. I keep putting him in it and he keeps leaping out of it. It is as though he is scared of it.

He also won't stay off of the table, especially when someone is eating. I have sprayed and misted him with water to keep him off. I have sprayed cat repellant on the chairs and table (that stuff is nasty smelling), I have thrown things at him and scared him off. I have even backhanded him off http://www.userbars.net/forum/images/smiles/ashamed.gif, but he is persistant. You put him down on the floor he immediatly gets back up. I don't want to have company over and he leaps right in the middle of there plate. http://www.diegotorres.com.ar/mensajeitor/foro/caritas/110103_sorry_prv1.gif

I don't know what to do. I refuse to get rid of my little baby, but he is giving me no other choice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't know what to tell you about the litter problem. My little one didn't want to learn what the spray bottle meant either. So I upgraded to a Super soaker. Suddenly, we had an understanding.

Mix vinegar into the water in the spray bottle. It won't hurt the cat but it's nasty enough to make him pay attention.

For the litter box, have you tried changing the litter? Sometimes cats have a preference about the kind of litter in the box. Also, when the cat pees on the floor, if you see him do it, flip him on his back and use him to wipe up the puddle. That worked wonders with my cats. :)

I will have to try it once I find the bottle. I think he hid it.

 I bet. Make sure he hasn't found a way to upgrade his claws or you could have a cold war scenario.

Does he urinate in the same places in the house? If so, try putting the litter tray in that spot. It could be he just doesn't like it where it is. Even if he doesn't have a "favorite" plate to tinkle, try moving the box to a more private place. Cats are surprisingly private animals.

Just a few items from my experience with kitties! Hope it helps!

You beat me to it!

I had this problem with one of my kitties. Put the litter box where he has been peeing and, as he gets use to it, move it inch by inch until the box is where you need it to be.

For the litter box, have you tried changing the litter?

Ours got the hang of the garden pretty quick, but I second the changing the litter idea, pick a different texture, maybe something softer? Some of the hard stuff is apparently very uncomfortable on a young cats feet, I guess its like a pebble beach for us. :)
