Yesterday little Fidget was being a cranky pants, and I had him in my lap at the computer. BF made breakfast, and summoned me to come get my plate from the kitchen. So I stood up, tiny baby in my arms, and walked directly into my ottoman.

Not like I didn't know it was there.

Yeah, I broke my little toe on my left foot. Nice and purple and swollen and PAINFUL. Klutzy Daisy strikes again. But, I didn't drop the baby. ;)

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has done something like this.

I've got a scar on my shin from where I walked into a crate at work.

I was running out of the bathroom, and my foot connected with the doorframe. Yep, broke my little toe - it was standing at a right angle to my foot. OUCH
Just tape your little toe to the one next to it, and take something to help with the pain and swelling. I reccomend ice cream :)

Does cutting your gum with a scalpel because you're using it as a toothpick count? What about when you do it again a few minutes later?

I had the dumb on that.

Untied shoe laces have led to the scar on my chin.
Trying to vaccum the cat because it seemed less work than brushing led to one on my clavicle.
Burned my arm getting something out of the oven where the oven mitts didn't cover. The very next week the same thing happened, in the same spot.

Once I squeezed a baked potato to make sure it was done. It was, and it popped spewing hot potato onto my hand. I stood there staring at it laughing until I realized it was buring my hand quite badly.

I have a scar on my ring finger from when I was trying to wipe off a knife not realizing that the towel had fallen out of my hand, so I slashed it across my finger instead.

Small scar on my hand from trying to open some plastic container in the car with my swiss army knife.

Surprisingly, BF has the same scar on the opposite hand.

I have a scar on my arm from a nail in a window I was pulling out.

....okay, that looks like a confusing sentence, here's how it went down.

-Scene Set: Pine Hill House, A Flip-job in Eastern TN, front bedroom of a 1925 era bungalow-

Dad told me to pull out a window so that we could replace it with the new double-paned windows. I'd been pulling out windows all morning and I could do it in under 30 minutes, from pulling the glass out to ripping the frame from the walls. I missed a nail that was sticking out, figuring that since I was just pulling the frame out in two pieces it wouldn't hurt anything. Guess what it did? You guessed it. As I was pulling half the frame from the wall, it tipped and the nail (80-year old original nail, damn that sucker was LONG and THICK) ripped into my arm. I stopped when Dad said "uh...you got yourself there" and let it bleed out for a minute before shrugging and going back to ripping the rest of the frame out.

...it hadn't occurred to me until JUST NOW that it could have made me sick.... but I do have a lovely little scar (it's fading out pretty fast and only "raises" with damp weather, other than that it's just a thin pink line).

And yes I am aware I made out extremely lucky, considering how filthy that house was.

OUCH! You poor thing. My Mum broke her toe by kicking the couch so you are certainly not the only one!

Speaking of stupid ways to break bones. I ended up with 2 cracked ribs from one of my friends hugging me to hard! (He was trying to crack my back...) So don't feel to bad!

I was doing a skit in a drama class where I had to run out the door. I ran, didn't get the knob, hit the door and fell down.

When I was... mmm... 17 or so, I went -running- to answer the door. Out of a room that had sliding/folding wooden doors, y'know... the kind with a track in the ceiling and floor? Yeah... knew it was there, still slammed my toes into the floor track at full speed. My smallest toe turned purple and black within an hour... I still think I broke it or something, but never bothered to go to the doctor. Hurt like all hells though.
