Okay, it should come as no secret to anyone that's been paying attention that I like to cook, and that I watch a lot of food tv. I am absolutely addicted to Bravo's Top Chef, which I started watching in Season 2. I love the show, and have not missed an episode (even if it's delayed) of Seasons 2, 3, or 4.

As Season 4 winds down, the chef I picked from the first episode is still alive and kicking ass. It doesn't hurt that she's cute as the dickens. I'm talking, of course, about Stephanie. She's cute, funny, charming, sweet, and can cook like nobody's business.

So, the question is, for those of you that watch the show, who has been your favorite chefs, for whatever reasons? And who are you rooting for of the final three?

Ah, Top Chef. That and Hell's Kitchen are two of my favourite TV based brain wasters.

I haven't been able to follow season 4 much though. ><

Did the Douche Pattern continue in season 4? Every season has 1 Douche. The Douche(tm) usually becomes evident in the first episode or two. But sometimes takes a bit longer to develop. He was pretty evident in season 1 and I still want to punch the Douche from season 2. I never got to watch season 3 all the way to the end but I did see the Douche emerging.

Yes, there was a Douche in Season 4 as well, but happily, he did not make it to the final four. The problem with the Douche, though, is that he is almost always a very talented chef. I will say this, though....the Douches in Seasons 3 and 4 seemed to be far more talented to me than the Douche from Season 2.

Yeah, Marcel was a fantastic douche and an arrogant bastard of a chef. I can't stand him even now. Then when they had Season 1 and 2 come back to square off against each other Season 2 went down because they could not work together with Marcel. They despised him so much.

At least season 1's Douche loosened up and discovered non-douchedom near the end of the season.

You can make a drinking game out of the show by taking a shot every time someone says "Throw under the bus" =p

Ah, a Top Chef drinking game would be cool.

The touch phrases would be:

"Throw under the bus."

"Fingerpointing."

"Spot on."

"Flavor profile."

"Bad decisions."

They got rid of Spike. :( Did you notice he was the only chef that would shake hands with people?? How could you get rid of someone like that! It shows that he wasn't afraid of anything!

I know, I know, the sea scallops did him in. But, damn, he made them look pretty.

Lots of the chefs shake hands with people (though not always with people they didn't like.....like, say, Dale). But yeah, the scallops helped his demise, but as Chef Tom said, if you are going to do a simple dish, everything has to be perfect....and on his steak dish, they weren't.

Still got a mad crush on Stephanie, and am thrilled she is in the finale. Now, if only she would come to Key West..........

There's your answer.....someone else keeps being stupider than her. Chef Tom even commented on the episode Spike got cut how many times Lisa's been on the chopping block...I think it was something like SEVEN TIMES. Keep in mind, that's out of only twelve episodes. (It might have been Spike that was there seven times and Lisa five....something like that. Still a lot.)

She said she thought someone sabotaged it, yes, but to her credit, she never accused any one person, which has happened on the show with other chefs.

But someone else made a valid point at that time. You need to keep an eye on your food, as in the kitchen, all kinds of things are going on, and knobs get turned, often unintentionally.

I got pissed off when Lisa says to Richard and Stephanie (after Antonia left) " So ..uh congratulations would be in order?". So you made it to the finals...by the skin of your teeth, just STFU. That was just rude and arrogant. Lisa even had the nerve to try and blame somebody else for "sabotaging" her rice. I call bullshit on that one, since that was her rice and she should've paid attention to it just like she did with her other items for her dishes. I'm happy that Richard and Stephanie made it, but as far as who would/could win IMO, is tough since both Stephanie and Richard are superb chefs. I'm hoping Stephanie would take the win, it would be nice (for once) on Top Chef for a chick to win. :D

Yeah, that was pretty classless of her. Good lord, if that wench actually WINS Top Chef, I may just have to stick my head in the oven. After I've butterflied it first, of course.

Puke. I was shocked when Antonia got the boot, I really was. Fantastic chef, that one.

I have to say, Lisa is definitely the worst chef I have seen make the finals. Tiffany, Harold, Dave, Ilan, Marcel, Sam, Elia, Brian, Casey, Dale, and Hung would ALL cook circles around her with their eyes closed and one knife tied behind their back!

GO STEPHANIE!!!

STEPHANIE WON! STEPHANIE WON! STEPHANIE WON!

First woman Top Chef, and she freakin' rocked.

A great cook, who is sweet, nice, kind, funny, witty, and cute as the dickens. Hmmmm....

STEPHANIE IZARD, WILL YOU MARRY ME?

For a few moments I thought Lisa might actually win. They LOVED her soup, and really liked her dessert, and Richard kind of pulled and Over Blais and went too molecular.....and they really didn't like Stephanie's dessert much at all!

I thought it was Top Chief but I guess I was wrong. Now I'm trying to track what it was.

It was a cooking show. I just saw ONE episode. But in it, they had to cook on a train, in three groups of three. The first part was getting indgretions, in which they rushed around town having to answer small questions. If they got it wrong, they had to do some cooking preparation.

Near the end, it looked like one just quit the show, feeling slighty jerked that no-one would respect her culture. (I think she was Indian?), but she came back in the end and said sorry, and they got rid of a jackass who really didn't seem to know how to cook.

Actually, no, that is not Top Chef. That is The Next Food Network Star, where people who may or may not have culinary training compete for their very own show on the Food Network. Some of them go on to much stardom, as Guy Frieri did, and some disappear into oblivion, as the last winner of said show did, as nice as she was.

Top Chef is on Bravo, and is a show where actual chefs compete with each other to get the title of Top Chef, not to mention $100,000 to jump start their culinary career (open a restaurant, travel and do research, whatever) and other various prizes.

The first is a mediocre cooking show talent search. The second is a seriously good culinary competition. I might stand a small chance of winning the first. I would be smoked in short order in the second.

Speaking of Food Network, did anybody here watch The Next Iron Chef? That was awesome! I thought that John Besh would win, but Michael Symon did instead. It was so cool seeing the finale in the Iron Chef Kitchen Stadium. The way the challenges were done on that show seemed much more difficult than Top Chef.

I saw most of that show, but sadly missed the last couple episodes. It was fun, but for some reason to me, didn't quite measure up to Top Chef. I don't know what it was. Admittedly, it was closer in quality to Top Chef than The Next Food Network Star, which while entertaining, is just far inferior to either of the other shows mentioned.
