The reason I'm not at work tonight is because I had some dental surgery done today. I have three stitches in my gums right now.

The most painful part of it all was getting the Novocain injected. Anyway, I left looking like I had got punched in the jaw on that side. No one stared till I got to the pharmacy for the pain meds. So, thanks for making me feel even more like a freak, pharmacy lady!

I get home and the Novocain wore off. OUCHY! Luckily, I have ice packs and medication or I would be ripping into people.

Still, it was better than having to go to the meeting that BossMan scheduled for tonight!

Ouchie! That sucks. You completely have my sympathy! Having teeth out hurts like hell, though the needles are sucky they are worth it not to feel the tooth being pulled!

I tried to keep my eyes closed when the dentist was working in my mouth. I didn't want to see the scary stuff. Yes, I'm a big baby when it comes to the dentist.

My sweet husband bought me a Wendy's chocolate frosty to help with the pain, he is so sweet!

Chocolate frosty, mmm.... I want one right now. I have a bad ice cream craving.

What kind of pain meds they give you? I got good 'ol Percocet with my last dental surgery 7 years ago. woo hoo!!!!! http://bestsmileys.com/movingeyes/1.gif

The dentist (not my regular dentist) only gave me Ibuprofen. I was hoping for the good stuff, but it's okay, since I still have Vicodin that my regular dentist gave me a couple of weeks ago for the pain I was in.

When I had my root canal 4 years ago, the needle for the Novacaine felt like a big pinch (compared to the horrible pain I felt prior to coming in), but the numbing it had on my pain was greeeeeat. Except for the constant drooling. I closed my eyes throughout the entire procedure and my dentist and his assistant were shocked that I didn't freak out about it like most do. I did that to spare myself from seeing all the scary tools  At least you have plenty of pain meds on hand to help. No narcotics for me, but at least I was able to take my beloved Aleve (Ibuprofen doesn't work on me). Feel better, Mis.
