It being officially Firefox Download Day, is anyone else trying Firefox 3? What do you think?

So far it's much faster to load than firefox 2. Toolbars etc. look a bit different, and it's got rid of AVG Toolbar (which massively slowed down browsing as it scanned every single page for malware every single time)

You mean the link scanner thing too (the thing that checked search results)? I disabled that in the AVG program itself as it's, well, bad to use anyway. But AVG is making drastic changes to the web plugins apparently -- you can disable them, not even install them, etc a lot easier (or so they told me as I've complained and submitted many screenshots where their program made me wait up to 15 minutes for results when the scan of the page only took milliseconds). Oh, meaning that when it's firefox 3 compatible -- you'll see it again and might just want to disable it.

But I have a theme used in mine, no default, so I don't really see any difference other than speed and memory things

I just got real disappointed when I realized after Sunday's breakup, now I'm stuck with Vista. My bf was going to install XP on here and get rid of Vista for me.

I'm hesitant to upgrade to version 3 until I know all my add-ons will be compatible.

GreaseMonkey, NoScript, Adblock Plus and the expanded alt text are all compatible.

Amateurs! I'm already using Firefox 3.1 :p

If you haven't downloaded it yet, there is a little over two hours left to download it and have it count toward the world record. There are already over 7 million downloads.

I like it, but I don't see much difference, besides the look.

Enlighten me, please?

Yeah it does seem a bit faster than the old version. Although it deleted my google tool bar cause it wasn't compatible. But i don't like a lot of extra tool bars anyway.

Love it so far, Faster then before... Just hope it isn't why that site I posted about on "OFF TOPIC" is confused.

When I get a few hours some weekend, I am looking to see about replacing Outlook with Thunderbird. Anyone had any experience with Thunderbird? I need to split Email accounts to separate folders and have good spam protection. My present spam filter only works with Outlook.

Once I have a good Email client other than Outlook, I may like to go over to 'Open Office'

Plenty of people on this forum with experience with all of it. Make a thread and ask your questions. I know I'll try to answer.

I've noticed last night when I downloaded FF3 that not all my add-ons were compatible.

SunCult I had to remove, as well as most of my themes. *sigh*

At least I still have my Pimpzilla theme . . . so far though the only things I've noticed different are the speed (3 seems to load faster) as well as the bookmarks now have tag information, and also the address bar will give information about the page you're viewing.

So far, not bad overal:)l.

I managed to download 3 of the 9+ million downloads they had yesterday. Personally, I love it so far. It's faster and cleaner than 2 and I haven't noticed the memory issues previous versions have had.

So far, all my ad-on's have worked. I only have to wait for my theme to be updated. I may not use it now though.

Plus, you can delete items it remembers from forms! (Shift-delete). I had mistyped my email address into one form, adding an extra ' at the end of it and FF insisted on thinking that was what I wanted to use...
