I have a nice day at Kings Dominion on Saturday, June 21, 2008. I get home around 11:30 PM and everything is fine. The following morning around 11:30 AM on Sunday, June 22, 2008, I wake up to the following pictures.

This was in my 2nd bedroom/office. I live in a Condo on the bottom of 2 floors. Its believed the top floor is the reason for the big leak. The leak did stop when they turned off the upstairs' ac. There is no one living in the one upstairs either. I will keep you all posted in what happens next.

I own the place, but I don't have any. Lesson learned, getting quotes today. I am going to push for the upstairs owners to pay for damages as they didn't tell me about the leak.

That's my question. I guess they want to make sure the fridge, the carpet, and any thing else that is in it feel okay. :lol:

If they own the place their homeowners insurance should pay for it. It's their fault if they left the air on with no one there; even if they didn't know there was a leak they should be monitoring the place in some fashion, especially if they're going to leave appliances running.

That happened in one of the apartments my Aunt co-owns. The tenant didn't properly install her window AC, I am unclear as to whether she left town and left it running, or just didn't bother to tell anyone about the leak, and kept using it. We found out when the water damage hit the apartment below. And she wondered why she didn't get her security deposit back.

Been there, done that, almost bought the farm.

Woke up a coule of minutes earlier than I normally did and no sooner had I sat up and moved to sit on the side of my bed, a foot square section of my ceiling collapsed, half a dozen bricks and all of it landed neatly where my head would have been if I were still asleep.
