Monday I was at work in the morning. I wasn't even there for an hour when my FS told me I had a phone call. She told me she thought it was probably the school calling. I get on the phone and it's my friend Bridgett. She tells me that her son called and told her that the schoolbus had a wreck:eek: .

Of course I start shaking and ask if anybody was hurt. She told me everybody was okay. She told me that Michael (my 15 yr old) wanted her to call me and let me know he was okay, and that I didn't need to leave work. He wanted to make sure I knew just in case if they had something on the news or someone came into work and said something about a bus wreck.

After I got off the phone, I explained what happened. I was so shaken up I was crying:cry: I knew my son was okay but I still couldn't help it.:o

I told my son that was very sweet that he had Bridgett call so that I woudn't be scared or worried. Of course his face turned red and he says, " I never said that". Ah yes I forgot teenage boys don't like for anyone to know they can be sweet.

It's okay though, I'm just so happy and relieved that he's okay.

Actually, I'm a teenage boy and I certainly don't mind if someone calls me sweet if they are of the female persuasion :D It's just my parents, if they called me sweet then I definately would be embarrassed

Anyways, it was definately good of your son to do that, I would have done something similar even at the risk of appearing sweet in front of my parents. Glad to hear that he's ok! I can understand being really shaken up over that despite knowing he was ok anyways. Did you ever find out how the school bus got into an accident in the first place?

Jaden my son told me the bus pulled out in front of a car. The car tried to swerve to miss it, but ended up getting hit anyway. My son told me he never came to a complete stop at the stop sign. He just slowed down a bit and went on through. He did this one other time and almost hit a tractor trailer.

Many people, (Me included) have complained about this guy. Of course the school takes his side and does nothing about it. Well I sure hope this accident opens there eyes. As of right now he's not driving. I hope he won't be driving again. If they do let him drive again, no way in hell will my son be on that bus. I don't care if I have to spend every last cent I have in gas. I'm not going to be scared like that again.

I'm with you. I wouldn't mind if a female called me sweet.

We've had a few shitty bus drivers during the time I went to school. My brother told me about this one that was always drunk, and you could smell it on him every time you got on the bus. Don't know what, if anything, was ever done about him.

Another one I had was a really nice older guy, but he couldn't drive very well. I'm guessing he was just getting to that age, but either didn't realize it or simply refused to accept it. He'd often drift into the other lane, until this one smartass kid would ask him, "Are we in England?" Then he'd yank the wheel to get the bus back into the right lane.

One morning I was waiting for the bus, and it never showed up. So my mom drove me into school. On the way there, we saw my bus off along the left side of the road, with severe body damage on the driver side of the bus. As far as we could tell, he drifted into the other lane again, only this time he kept going and sideswiped some trees on that side. Luckily, mine was the first stop, so no kids were on the bus. Not surprisingly, someone new was driving the bus the next year.

First of all, let me say that I am very glad your son is OK and that it was very sweet and thoughtful of him to have someone call you to let you know that.

When my cousins, the ones my age, were in elementary school their school bus driver was our older cousin, who was in HIGH SCHOOL!!! I don't know why on earth they did that, but that was the way it was done by that system then. When the younger ones got in trouble W would just ask them "You want me to stop at Grandmama's house?"

That got them in line everytime. From what I've heard W was a very safe driver and went on to a career in the Army wrking in transportation for the 182nd.
