I'm so counting down the minutes... I have been waiting for this, Heath Ledger looks like he is going to kick ass as the Joker (though I do kinda wonder how Mark Hammil would have done, he was also rumored to have been considered at one time) and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent (which kinda irritates me, I like Eckhart too much to see him turn into a bad guy, but knowing his acting he'll be able to pull it off without making us hate him... at least in the old batmans that was the best quality, you could actually feel sorry for some of the villains). My roommate has already admitted that he would go gay for Christian Bale so I know he's also counting down the minutes...
anyone else here super exited about this movie, or am I the oddity?

Just reserved my tickets for me and my husband. Only a couple of theatres still had available tickets, so I'm glad I reserved them. I wanted to see it on an Imax screen, but of course all of those were gone days ago. Some friends of mine got tickets for a ridiculously early showing on Friday just to see it on an Imax screen.
I am so excited!! Heath Ledger's Joker creeps me out big time.

I would love to see it!!! Heath Ledger would make a helluva bad ass Joker.
I am so excited as well. I admit, I'm kind of a poser....I am not into Batman but I really want to see Heath Ledger in his last role he ever played.
Tickets better not be sold out......we're going to a 9:45 showing Friday night and be there early enough.
Hopefully the hordes of people go to the midnight showing tonight and tomorrow night is less busy.

I'm intrigued. I'm quite a fan of the Burton movies - I think the strength of ALL of the Batman films is the villains. Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeifer, even Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey (who make Batman Forever watchable). I do kinda hate that it's suddenly become 'cool' to say how horrible the first Batman was and how bad Nicholson was.... It's two different interpretations of the same character - they can't really be compared.
I've not seen Batman Begins, so I'm going to rent it before I go see Dark Knight.
As far as Ledger...you know, I'm really sad that he died, but that doesn't automatically make this performance brilliant. So..I'm just going to wait until I see it - which will probably be sometime next week.

Who the hell's saying that Jack Nicholson was a cruddy Joker? I'll kick their butts! Nicholson's role scared the royal shit outta me! He was terrifying! I loved it, personally.

Yeah, seriously! Why waste time on Burton's Batman when we have the campy piece of shit that was Batman and Robin?
Confession time, though: I've seen Batman and Robin a bunch of times. It's just like watching Manos: Hands of Fate. Sitting on the couch, mouth agape in horror as you realize time and again that yes, this is a real movie, yes, people did pay money to produce and view it, and yes, the Batsuit has nipples.

Joker did a great job. For the eighties Joker. Now, he'd be laughed at.

Which is funny since George Cloony has said many a time he'll give five bucks to whomever paid to see that movie.
God that was horrible. Ugg.

I watched Batman and Robin on TBS. A long ass time ago.
Wish I could see the movie, but I work night shift (always) and always get off work in time for the ticket sales to stop for the night.

I think the girlfriend is going to a early screening.
One of my best friends went to an early screening on Tuesday, I believe. She doesn't even like those types of movies, but she said it was awesome. I will be waiting for the crowds to die down. But, I can't wait either.

yes, the Batsuit has nipples.
Whoa, wait, WHAT?! The Batsuit had NIPS?!?!? Time to dig the movie out of the massive black hole known as the Movie cabinet and watch it again!

I believe that there are also nipples on the Batman Forever batsuit.
Ah Val Kilmer, kind of vapid as Bruce Wayne, but totally yummy as Batman.

I still have the VHS at my parent's house from when it first came out (my cousin gave it to me as a Christmas present). It was a good movie, albeit a bit cheesy. Jack Nicholson's version of Joker was good, but Heath Ledger's took it to a darker and gritter level. I watched part of this documentary they had on The History Channel where they talked about the different facets and personalities in psychology and the connections the characters of Batman have with it: i.e. Narcissism with The Riddler, etc. I recorded it so I can see it from beginning to end on my DVR.

it's all in which theatre you go to... I've found that going out to the middle of nowhere (ok south jordan isn't that far away) during midday and you'll be good (granted the compromise is an hour bus ride, but to go to a theatre with high quality, cheap tickets, and not much of a crowd it is soo worth it)

We're headed to a 12:50pm showing in just a bit. I dwell in a hicktown, so I'm praying for the love of all that is good that the theater won't be filled with annoying teenagers. 'Cause, you know, Saturday afternoon, oi! And no, I couldn't convince my group to go for advance tickets. I really, really want to see this, but I'm afraid it's going to be ruined by obnoxious teens. Oh well, I'll let you know how it goes!
Disclaimer: Not that all teens are bad, mind you. But the majority give the few good ones a very bad name.

oh I know how you feel, even as a teenager I hated the annoying teenagers, especially at movies
though I would argue that the majority are good (barely) and it's a very vocal minority that gives everyone a bad name, mainly because when a teenager is good they are nearly invisible, they just blend in with everyone else (which at a movie theatre is EXACTLY what you should be doing)

It doesn't open in the UK till Thursday. We have a staff screening at work, which is cool. I've volunteered to be the projectionist for it.
I was right! Bf and I were easily able to get tickets Friday night and it wasn't packed!
GREAT movie!

Hey, hey, hey... that theater's just down the street from me! (okay, about 20 blocks south, but still!)
Plus that complex has the pub "MacCool's" which is... by far... the BEST place I've ever had dinner... ever...

sense I'm not familiar with MacCools... I was talking about Carmike (which may actually be West Jordan still, but I'm pretty sure it's South Jordan)... is that were MacCools is or is that by the Cinemark or the LHM?

Someone's never seen Hercules in New York. That was so bad even I was cringing, but I loved it!
It wasn't just a train wreck, but the train had hit a bus full of orphans and come off the rails, only to plummet down a ravine to destroy a convent that was hosting nuns from around the world at their annual 'love-a-puppy' event.
Worth every penny.

oh yeah, and my roommates are upset because I've already seen it once in regular and once in imax and none of them have had time to see it at all.
