Yay! I'm a Doula! *joyful self-employed dances*

Classes completed, paperwork ready, and all I need is a few births to get my certification!

Another "Yay!":

My Economic Stimulus Check came in!

Which leads to another "YAY!":

I can go to my baby sister's wedding and visit my brand new nephew! It will be the last time I can afford to go see her before she dies from her brain cancer, so this is a really good thing!

And yet another "Yay!":

I have a new kitty! He wandered in off the street and decided that my home was his home. He's a gorgeous black fluffy kitty with excellent manners (he even uses the kitty scratching post, unlike my other kitties) and he's been checked and neutered and vaccinated.

*grins* After all the drama and roughness of the last year... it's good to have some good things happening in my life!

Good for you.

Congrats on all the good things in your life, and the (not so common) ability to recognize them.

See? Things always get better in the end. :D All you need now is for Hubs to come back from overseas!

It's so good to hear from you, NSI, especially with good news. Just a couple of days ago, I was wondering how you were doing.

Yea!

That's great news NSI, how do you become a doula? I wanted to become a midwife but being a doula sound just as good.

Heh... Sort of that "speak of the devil" thing. *grins*

Too bad he's got a long deployment... 15 months. But he'll be back for a couple of weeks around the new year.

There are courses that you can take... I went through Childbirth International. (Google it and it'll come up with the site.)

I have massive respect for midwives. They do everything that a Doula does... and then have medical knowledge as well!
