So my uncle marlen died last week and his funeral today.
Now before i get to many condulances, this was not a sad death, he was very old, almost 90, and lived a happy and fullfilled life, and except for the fact he died from pnemonia and emphesma it was rather good death.
now my family ran by his house, and got some of his stuff.
He had hundards of-ties, candle sticks, rings, hats and other things.
My mother got some of his items, a mexican runner, a silver mexican bowl, two mexican pottery bowel, one canves, and a beautful fabric or tissue paper painting that i want to steal, and a barrett.
now why the fear.
beyond the fun of going through ties (he had great taste)
I realised me, as with almost everyone in my moms family, have a hoarded type of collection. unlike everyone else, mine have no particle means, I collect Teddybears and postcards.
my mother... papers, anykind adds even and books.
My sister DVDs and music, almost normal except t-shirts and socks too, though she trys to limit herself, my brother is a minuimalist, but hes computer is full of info.
and the list goes on.

My future offspring are screwed!

*extra*The ties!!
because i loved this i want to share it.
Now when my family went by marlens, they got his ties. and a few other things too.
My mom got 5 for my brother (he only liked 2).
Now my uncle is fairly OCD, Actual Uncle JE would say CDO, OCD but in alphabetical order.
He kept his ties organised by color.
these arent some *our religan* therft store rejects, they are all 100% silk, or just as nice. All name brand. I even found Georgio Armani in there. 99% of his ties are decent, not to much really nice, the other 1% or omg why would someone make that. Hawaiin Shirt BUT a tie. Trust me, i giggled repeatedly.
Now personal i took 9, 5 soild, 2 neutral but simple, 1 old, but modern cool, 1 just so awful you cant really imagen but its still livable.
400+ ties.
It was so fun to watch my Nana, three aunts, Great uncle JE, and my mom go through these. basically most of them went to JE, because well, hes older and can get them spread out among my cousins if needed. about 25 got pulled counting my 9, 4 for Ms suns, 7 for uncle P and then my 9 and my brothers 5.
I love the ones grabbed because they are the kind that as a girl i can wear and be cute not weird.
Marlen always wore something around hes neck and a hat.
Weither it was an ascot, a bowlo tie, or a 100% georgio armoni, having some of ties makes me feel wonderful. Like my grandfathers book of human strangeness, its a momento of the past.
btw, my nanas thing is navajhoe jewelray some of it very expensive.

....

Okay, not so much but if I hated every man's name who has done me wrong, I'd never be able to birth a son. (Adam and Nathaniel are particularly hated names)

in fact i know if/when i have kids i would like to name a son either- Oran Chantry- Boyd or Wylde Honor-Zachery (yes i know cowboy names ^_^)

Name your first born son after your first male dog (Sam).

I gotta get my Moa Bird's (Sampson) name in the family SOMEHOW and Copenhagen and Habernackey already have names.

I have seen some really cool projects done with ties. A few by family of someones treasured collection.
One of the coolest was a lamp shade covered in them. The Wide/ pointed end hanging down below to create the fringe.
I also saw a pillow cover done with ties.
Just some thoughts of something that could be done to create something nice for other family memebers to have in their house that would make them think of the happy times with Marlen.
As for the collections. Most people collect something. I have a thing for frogs and on a regular basis am given frog items. (Including the two huge that lay kissing on a twin bed and take up the entire bed.
Every now and then I weed through and try to decide if it is something I love . . .or do I hang on because of who gave it to me. If I love it I keep it. If it is the person . . .I take a picture of the item . . .print it and put it in my photo box with a note about what the item is and whom it was from. I then find a new home for the item. If it is a plush in good condition I pass it on to the local police Department. They use them when they get called to a wreck or a bad domestic situation . . .or any time a child might need some comfort.

As for the suicide . . .I hope that you are getting proper (as in a Trained Dr.) assistance.

Men's names . . .don't hate the name. Figure out what you enjoyed/ liked about anyone you date . . .keep that in mind
Also, note what you didn't like/ couldn't deal with. Next time you date someone with those traits . . .know that is your red flag.

My Dad loves ties. He has some pretty awesome paisley ones, too! I never thought I would like paisley anything - but he has some kick arse ones!

As far as names go, I don't really care what someone's name is as long as they are a decent person. :)

Well, my dogs were both girls, Heidi and Lisa, neither of which I am likely to name a daughter. Don't think I'll be naming a son Pablo. Or Stripes (my boycat's name).
