View Full Version : I'm soooooooooooo TIRED!

I can't stop yawning. I used to be such a morning person. I work 4 days a week, I have to be here @ 6am. My alarm rings at 5 and I don't get out of bed until 5:20. My internship, I get there around 6:30. The only reason I like to get there early (I could go in as late as 9 or even later) - is because I like to not get stuck in traffic back home. So, I'm up and moving around at 5:30 nearly every morning.
I used to work at 8am. That was great! I even used to hit the gym BEFORE work - which was great because then, if I was tired when I went home, I didn't have to worry about forcing myself to go back out.
Now...I am so not a morning person. I think this is the second mindless post I've posted this morning as a desparate attempt to not fall asleep in my cubicle.
Halp!

I totally hear you...I'm working an hour early 4 days this week to make up for a half-day on Friday, and yet I can't seem to sleep at night! (I think it's a stress issue, with all the crap going on at work) I'm getting a max of 6 hours of sleep, and usually more between 4-5 and sometimes less.
I just can't stay awake...my sentences aren't making any sense, and I can't seem to think straight.
ARGH!
So yeah, definately hear you...misery loves company.
I love mornings, that means I'm done with work!
But what I hate is wasting my whole day sleeping. And trying to be a "normal" person on Friday and Saturday by attempting to stay up all day and sleep at night. Then try to reverse it and sleep during the day Sunday and go back to work that night.
Working 3rd shift absolutely blows. But before I worked 3rd shift, the thought of 7 am used to make me mad. Now I love it.

I've considered 3rd shift, but I know I wouldn't last so long at it.

I too am tired.
But that's normal at this time of day for me.
See I can get up as early as anyone, and once I'm out of bed and moving I'm fine.
And I can stay up as late as anyone as long as I'm doing something.
But the late morning - early afternoon is what sucks.
That's why I loved it when I worked 6-2:30. Up early, home early, could take a nap so I could stay up late.

in theory you could do what i did for midterm cramming. take a pixxy rope, 2 red bulls and a full ounce of cotton candy. mash the cotton candy into a ball and place in a 32oz cup, pour the contents of the pixy rope on top of that. then empty the 2 red bulls into the cup. mix with a blue bic pen untill the sludge at the bottom is dissolved and knock it back in 1 or 2 goes. (WARNING: NOT FOR USE BY PERSONS WITH A HEART CONDITION, DIABETES, UNCONTROLLED BLOOD PRESSURE, WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT OR ANY ONE WITH A CAFFEINE SENSITIVITY) then hold on to your sox. enjoy

Stroke in a cup. ><
I work 4 shifts a week, but I have to get up for work at 8:30pm, be out the door by 9:30pm and be at the office by 10:30pm. Then its an 8 and a half hour shift. Then an hour home. Then I attempt to sleep in the bright summer weather and through my cat's antics. -.-
It doesn't always work.
Then on my first day off I have to stay up all day to reset. So by the time I finally crawl into bed Sunday night I've been up for 26-27 hours. I do this every week. ;p
