Now that I have DSL, I can actually watch online video clips, but I pretty consistently run into rather muffled sound. I have to turn the speakers up a good deal higher than normal to listen to these, then normal system sounds are WAY too loud. Online radio doesn't have that issue.

Any suggestions? System specs: P3 550mhz, 384mb RAM (I think. This doesn't seem to be a low-memory issue anyway), Win2000, Netscape 7.2 (I *hate* Explorer), can't find the specs for the sound card in Device Manager.

I'm planning to do some tweaking in Control Panel to see if I can do myself any good, and possibly try for an updated sound driver.

Have you tried playing around with the Volume Control settings? I can't remember if web sounds use a different control than the systems sounds, but it might be worth checking.

I have a little speaker icon down in my system tray that let's me adjust. The thing is internet sound clips are often low quality and/or poorly mixed and there's not much you can do about that. You might be able to make it a little better but probably not much.
