My best friend, who some of you may remember posting here as "Dancindesire", has been trying to find homes for some kittens that she and her boyfriend found a few weeks ago. She tried to get us to take them, but I told her no, we have four cats already. I did agree to put something up on the bulletin board at my job, but the weeks went by, and there were no takers. Her sister was going to take the one, but her landlord wouldn't allow it.
Today we were at her place for a birthday party for one of her kids, and of course, the kittens were there, in a carrier. They couldn't let them run around loose all the time, because they have three dogs. The dogs actually liked the kittens, and wouldn't hurt them intentionally, but two of the dogs are really big, and accidents can happen. Also, both she and her boyfriend are allergic. Despite this, and being extremely broke for I don't know how long, they took them in, nursed them to health, bottle-fed them until they could eat sold food, and spent a small fortune that they did not have on vet bills.
As soon as we got there, I think we all knew this was going to be it. We were all looking at them, and she got them out so we could hold and play with them. Then she started dropping hints, offering to give us some cat food to take home, and reminding us that they already had all their shots.
Well, we finally caved in. I think that bitch (and I say "bitch" completely out of affection) had this planned from the start when she invited us over. But I can't be mad at her, because they're sooooo cute! :D

They climbed in on their own. My son has been building it in all different styles for them.

Six. And that's all for awhile. The Cat Motel has a "No Vacancy" sign on it as of now (like I didn't say that before.)

Super cute!!
We have 3 cats and 1 dog at our place, and trust me....it wasn't my call. I'm severly allergic to cats and dogs. But with the allergy medications on the market, it makes living with these animals tolerable. (Somedays)
I recently lost a Husky this past winter so it was at one time 3 cats and 2 dogs. Yes...I can honestly understand "NO VACANCIES".

I also say, observe how they interact with the older kitties. Cats have a way of taking care of one another; provided that the two newbies bond with some of the older kitties, the olders will take an in loco parentis role, so to speak.
I also have a No Vacancies sign by landlord's orders but he isn't around and the neighborhood strays in my new area just gave birth to the cutest tuxie kitties ever. Gord help me if I won't try to get them off the street and into my place.

ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!
I wish I could have pets here. When the MOTH and I move into an apartment, I'm gonna get two kitties. (I figure that if I only get one, it would be too lonely by itself for part of the day.) Maybe kittens, maybe slightly older cats, but from the humane society or something.

Aww....I'm not much of a cat person, but they're cute when they're little. We found a small kitten outside my store one day. One of the managers took him initially, but after 3 nights of NO SLEEP because "the damn thing kept jumping on my head" <-- her words, she gave it to a quasi-manager. He named him Hendrix:

I think he's precious...and a little pain in the butt. He almost jumped out of a box that was like 2 feet high - and he's only like 9 weeks old.

Yeah, I know what you mean about them being a pain in the butt. Just a few minutes ago, I was playing a game, and the whole thing went dead for no apparent reason. Turned out they were playing under my desk, and decided to pounce on the button to the power strip, and shut the whole thing down.
Of course, I couldn't stay mad at them. They're lucky they're so damn cute.
