Just took a call from an outraged customer. They received some spread that they had scribbled out on their faxed order, so I dug the fax out and checked. They had indeed scribbled it out, but they'd also put it in earlier in the fax and not scribbled it out there.

They held their hands up to that one.

They were also shorted on some soya dessert. They had ordered three cases and received one case, and this one is for an end user who relies on it for their dietary needs. I reprinted their invoice and pointed out the words below the line there, which said, "Sorry, this is all the stock we have left." In other words, they got the last case we had.

"I asked them to check that the invoice didn't say anything else!"

In the distance, I head an assistant's voice calling out, "Sorry, Rapscallion!"

I've hopefully arranged for a below-minimum order to try and get the essential items to them, since they were so embarrassed...

Well at least they backstepped and weren't as sucky about it. We have customers that pull the "Well, you should've known that isn't what we needed". That always makes me go

Looking back, this actually made me feel good. The shop is one that was recently taken over by new owners and they're trying to build themselves back up. I did a little work running around to make sure they were able to service their customer (someone who depends on the soya product for dietary needs), and my place gained quite a bit of loyalty.

Oddly enough, I gave myself a case of the warm fuzzies.

I gave myself a case of the warm fuzzies.

Is THAT what it's being called now?
