Yep - looking for work again. Had the last probation interview today. Don't have a job tomorrow. As a techie, I guess I didn't blow the right people hard enough. :(

Just want to know which Deity I pissed off in a past life. Last year was the wife left me for her girlfriend, got screwed out of $10K for a job with a "friend" in the US, Had to move in with my dad at 40, and now this. <wibble>

Sucks.

Oh how I know how you feel. For a year and a half, I was off work. Could not find one to save my life. Unemployment would not help me. Lucky i was staying with the parents. And that they helped me out. but damn, that hell sucked.

Do you have other skills other than a computer tech? Techies are now a dime-a-dozen, and the competition is fierce for jobs now that companies are cutting back fiscally.

Use your other skills and knowledge to get into a job that can support you while you look for the job you really want in your field. My brother-in-law found himself a part of corporate layoffs last November. He doesn't really have any other skills that he can utilize or is willing to utilize. So he is still looking for a job, nearly 10 months later.

I got laid off of an office job that I was in a couple years ago due to corporate restructuring. I have a wide range of skills that within two weeks, I was able to get a temporary job that helped with bills until I found the right permanent job in the area I wanted to be in for at least a while.
