IS EPIC!

Got to see Nightwish with Sonata Arctica opening; by the end I was bruised, stiff, hoarse, deaf, and I could not have been more ecstatic! Sonata puts on a great performance (I just about screamed myself hoarse with their songs! :p) and are, of course, one hell of a band. From the shirts that I could see, it looked like a fair portion of the audience was there more for Sonata than Nightwish.

Not me, of course. Nightwish was, as always, beyond fantastic! I will admit I was surprised when they played "Come Cover Me," but Anette really nailed it, and getting to hear "7 Days to the Wolves" live was worth every penny I paid.

Oh, and Anette was blonde for the concert. Took about 5 seconds for me to adjust to that when my friend and I realized she looked very hot blonde. From what I can tell from the site, that's her natural color; metal singer or no, I hope she sticks with that! It really suits her.

For a nice touch of irony, since the concert was in Los Angeles, they closed with "Wish I Had an Angel;" an awesome way to get us audience members pumped up for their departure. In short, 10/10; I can't wait for them to come around again! Anette was promising they'd be back; I'll hold 'em to that ;)

A little bonus about the venue; the Wiltern has a retractable screen to which audience members can send text messages and pictures. There was a horde vs alliance war going on up there (which I'm somewhat proud to say I think I started ), not to mention quite a few internet memes and, randomly, bananas in pajamas. I chose not to think too hard about that one.

Oh, one more thing; Marco himself was standing outside the bus, right as I was passing by in the line! He'd moved along by the time I realized that actually was the Marco, but still, that was an awesome bonus. Nightwish rules!

You have no idea how jealous I am right now... I couldn't make it to Denver to see them live...

Grr...

I was at the Worcester show 2 weeks ago, and going again to see them in NYC in 2 weeks. It was AWSOME.

I had tickets for the meet & greet for Worcester, but we missed it (they did it way early; and we had trouble getting into the hotel room)! Got them for NYC though, and we're going WAY early this time. I did get a picture with Tuomas though and had him sign one of my books, and they did give us signed posters for missing the meetup (though Marco's signature wasn't on it, later heard he had a bad day and wasn't at the meetup either), but I got his when I went to their show there last year.

I like Anette better with the longer black hair though. She looks okay now (and if she was gonna cut it anyway I'd guess I'd prefer blonde over black), but it shocked me too. She looks completely different to me.

We saw Nightwish and Sonic Syndicate back in May. We considered seeing them again(they were really good!) but instead decided on Apocalyptica and Opeth. Glad you enjoyed it, we sure had a blast! ;)

I saw Nightwish again on Sat, sort of.

Had tickets for NYC concert, but it too was cancelled along with the previous few shows due to Anette taking ill suddenly.

I had tickets for a meet & greet, but since everyone was getting refunded, they changed it to only let the first 100 people in. Right after we found this out, my friend and I caught Ewo (the manager) outside having a smoke, and he said he could get us in :P That made me very happy!

They had some local band, Martyr, play first; just your classic trash metal. Not my kind of style, but they put on a good performance nonetheless. If it was my type, I would have genuinely enjoyed it.

Then the boys came out for a public apology, which I thought was nice of them to do.

Sonata Arctica played a LONG ASS set, and they were awsome. I still need to pick up one of their CDs, I think I really like them.

My friend, who, prior to Worcester, had barely heard Nightwish (much less Sontata) had an AWSOME time. I think she loved Sonata more than I did!

Bad way to end a tour, but they couldn't help it and I had a good time considering the circumstances. There is talk of them trying to make up the missed shows in May, but I have no idea how accurate that info being.

I hope they do...Nightwish cancelled in Charlotte and I was hoping to see them. I should have more than enough money to see them if they come back then.
