I've written down my plot arc, and will be starting to write as soon as I come home from the Halloween party...

I am.... have decided to do a "fly by the seat of my pants" style. Let 'er rip!
Last year was difficult because I was not happy with my vision not being realized fast enough lol... that and I have four kids and a job... I didn't finish it lol
this year I intend to relax... and have fun.

I am incapable of outlining, so there is no way I could achieve NaNoWriMo. My first novel took me 2 years to write and another year to revise. ;)
I often us NaNoWriMo as a deadline to get a short story completed, but right now I am too fixated on my new novel to work on a short. Ah well, maybe next year.
Good luck with yours GingerBiscuit, I really admire people who can pull it off! :yourock:

I might. The trouble will be the editing process, as in, to get any writing done I can't allow myself to edit. But then I look over what I have so far, decide it's crap, and lose inspiration. I've never done it before, though, so it might be a good idea to try something new.

The thing with NaNoWrimo is to remember- It doesn't have to be good.
You jsut have to get the word count.
anyway, I'm kytten on there, if any Nanowrimo-ers want to check me out.
I have NO doubt there will be points I just blatently pad with overflorid prose (like happens sometimes in this book, which is some of the worst examples of a previous year)http://www.lulu.com/content/1310566

if you can do it for 50,000 words, do it. Call it a postmodern piece. *irony*

I'm going to be trying again. I'm working on a D&D setting so am considering a story that will allow me to explore my lands in more depth...no idea what it'll be about yet though >.<
I'm Deeva there if anybody cares to find me.

NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org) stands for National Novel Writing Month. It runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30. The goal is to write at least 50000 words of a story by the end of the month, essentially a small novel.

I'm still trying to finished the stories I was writing for the Nano last year. They all had a dystopian theme.

So I want to be able to actually finish the project I start this year...and I'm already running into a problem. I want to write in the setting I've been developing for ages. It would really help me flesh it out more for more projects and the like. So I want a story that will let me hit most of the major lands without seeming to be a rip-off of Tolkien.
Any rough ideas? Like possible objectives or conflicts that might be interesting to read about.

That's okay, I want to write a steampunk novel and there's very little to go off of, example-wise. :o
