"Pants?! Marty, where we're going, we don't need pants!"
---
This leads me to believe that all from Nunavut are liars.
The barring of pants in one's luggage implies that they are a security threat. How can pants be a security threat? Fire. Since a liar's pants are perpetually in flames, that must be the cause of the security threat.

It was awkward the first time we met, but I'm used to it by now.

No kidding. And those kids a couple of rows back were not having a good time.

OK, seriously Broomjockey and Spiffy... you have alluded to the story but just enough to make us wonder what the whole story is...
seriously, after the clues of no pants, cold rink, and the kids behind you... we need more

The courts ordered a publication ban during the trial. Sorry. Something to do with minors and the Youth Justice Act--I'm not sure of all the legalise.
