I was in one of those moods today..you know the ones...the "I can't be F**King bothers with this" sort of moods...the mood where no matter what happens you shrug your shoulders and go "MEH"..and move on...OR you do what I did

ok, I'm turning right into a T-intersection, I pull up to the give way sign, the road I'm about to turn into T-intersects with a main road..get me? Hope so, ANYWAYS, I come up the give way, I look left and right, then left and right again, no one there, OK I go, get across the first lane and guy comes flying around the corner and slams on the breaks. He caught me off guard so I slammed on my breaks....guy looks at me and goes''WTF! and does this annoying, pissed off "confused" look at me, shrugging his shoulders and holding up his arms in the what are you F*CKING doing manner...I look at him, give him the biggest dirty, flip him the bird and drive off...I mean..as I said I was in one of those moods, I knew I had the give way, so had we had an accident I would have be made at fault (which sucks) but I couldn't care less when I saw what the guy did, and what the guys reaction was...there WAS no accident, and he was far from hitting me, so I didn't see what the problem was...meh...one of those mood days

You are only legally required to give way to that traffic which actually exists. If you could have proved he was speeding for the area, you'd have a good case for not legitimately being able to see him.

Er ... well .. <backing down> I'm no lawyer. But you might want to check into it. I think it's likely that if you can prove he was speeding, you can claim his speed contributed to the crash as if he wasn't, you'd have had time to see him and stop.
