Well, since I haven't had an injection of steroids in three months, the horrific back pain is back. I hope that ASSHOLE DOCTOR is fucking happy now. I hope his dick falls off with the worst pain he has ever experienced. I also hope he gets told go fuck himself when he asks for pain medication.

I do have some heavy duty pain medication that was given to me by doctors who ignored his request to refuse me all pain medication. I could understand him refusing me, if I was a drug seeker or faking it, but none of those things are true.

I still have pain because if I don't take the medication right away when the pain hits, it has no effect on the pain. The pain hit before work, so I couldn't take it and still do my job.

If I had known the system at work would go down faster than a cheaper hooker and I would get to go home early, I would have taken the medication when the pain hit.

Don't even get me started on the systems that have been upgraded twice and still go down all the time. I can't really complain, because I get paid either way.

Sorry. :(

Can you ring up the clinic, speak to the doctor, and describe the pain you're in whenever it hits? They'll either ban you or write you a script. :)

I would have to go to the ER. I try to avoid that at all costs, but I will go if the pain doesn't go away.

Ahh yes nothing says horrific agonizing, eye poping pain like back issues. Is it possible to switch doctors? this one doesn't seem to understand that not everyone is a pill popping junkie and some people actually DO have chronic issues that are best treated by medication.

I feel ya. I had a chronic pain issue for about 6 years. Some of the Doctors were real assholes about pain medication.
At the 5 year mark one of the Doctors asked me if I think Im addicted to pain meds. I said "Hell yes I am, been on them for 5 years what do you think, but that doesn't change the fact that I am in pain!!!"
I usually would answer questions like that with "fix the pain then I wont need the damn drugs."
After 6 years I went to a pain management program at the Cleveland Clinic and how to mentally make the pain not so bad so I dont need pain medicine as much.

Heh, but after I got off all the pain meds I learned I had a slight case of Major Depression and schizophrenia.

The doctor who refused me is a pain specialist. He was not my regular pain specialist, since the one I saw left the practice. The one I saw did everything he could to make sure I was pain free. I only saw the one who refused me all pain relief once.

I have had this chronic pain since I was 13 years old, so it's been a very long time. In all that time, the only time I had total relief and didn't have to worry that the pain would come back, was when I was seeing my regular pain specialist, so I went a lot of years just dealing with the pain when it came. I think that maybe now I shouldn't have to live with it on my own, since they know what works for it.

My husband was happy that I was getting the injections, since it was the first time in all the years we have been together that he saw me without some sort of pain (besides the leg, which causes pain, but not nearly the pain my back does)

I did see my regular pain specialist once after that, right before he moved over 50 miles away. I saw him at a practice were both of them were on the floor. When I saw my regular doctor, he had gone from "I will do what it takes to keep you pain free" to doing what it took to keep the other doctor from getting upset, if he walked by.

I was going to find out where my regular specialist went, since he couldn't tell me without it being a conflict, but only if he is going to help like he use to.

I'm also going to call my family doctor to see if she can recommend a pain specialist, just in case.

I left work early, because of the lack of sleep and the nausea and went to the after hours clinic. The doctor took x-rays and didn't see anything, which I tried to tell him, but he wanted to double check.

I have only seen this doctor once before about a year ago, for the same thing and he remembered me. Weird, since he sees so many people. Hey, I don't care if a competent doctor (who is also a bit on the cute side) remembers me. :D

He asked why I didn't call my pain specialist and I told him that mine left and the partner and I had a personality clash. He asked about it and I told him the condensed version. He asked about medication. I told him the only thing I wanted from the partner is the injections that were actually working.

So, he gave me a script for a stronger pain medication and a list of pain specialists who are associated with the clinic I was at and my family doctor. I couldn't thank him enough.
