Anyone do much photography?

Just wondering if anyone knows the art of taking a decent photo. I'm popping off for a few days to a rather scenic area (I'll still be in touch, so feel free to panic), so I'll be taking photos around and about. Most of mine aren't memorable - are there any suggestions on how to compose something with a touch of 'wow' factor?

Raps, if you go to http://www.kodak.com they have a section on taking good pictures.

If I talk to hubby today I will ask him for some also, as he takes wonderful pictures.

I will tell you though, that not everything has to be in color. Some of my favorite pictures he has taken (other than the ones of our girls) are of a peacock in black and white. Very cool.

Also, don't try and center every picture. Sometimes it is better if they are a little off kilter.

Sometimes the best picture is the one where the "subject" is completely in focus and the rest is out of focus.
