No, I am not making this up. edible_hat, Nyoibo and any other Australians will know what I'm talking about, but for the others...

Basically, our political system involves two main parties, the Liberal Party and the Australian Labor Party. Whoever gets the most seats at election becomes the leading party of Australia or of a particular state. The leader of that party becomes the premier (State) or prime minister (federal) of Australia.

Anyway, the sex industry has launched a political party, called the Australian sex party. Their aims include: national sex education campaign, a move to stop the proposed internet filter being put onto Australian internet connections (which nobody can opt out of), supporting gay marriage and a whole host of other things that I forget. Their main reason for forming the party is because of the growing religious influence in parliament.

What made me laugh today was that I checked out our local paper's website, which occasionally has a poll. The poll today was: "Would you vote for the Australian Sex Party?" The results:

Yes: 49%
No: 38%
The remaining 15% were for "Only if John Howard (our previous PM) is running it."

That last part made me laugh....John Howard was the former leader of the Liberal Party and is in his 50's if not 60's.:roll::roll:

Now I'm being reminded of that line from NCIS: "Despite the conversative image, Australians really do love their porn."

I think Ziva gets the best lines. An episode I watched today:

Tony: "So, you think they named it the Chimera because there's a monster aboard?"
Ziva: "They did not name it 'The Puppy'!"

Another favorite:
Ziva: "I will kill you 18 different ways with THIS paper clip!"
