I just finished reading the Sunday paper. Normally, I head right to the comics (or "funnies" as they used to be called), but didn't do that today. Why? Cuz ain't nothin' funny about them anymore. Except for two bright spots; Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine. These two strips are my favorite right now.

But I long for the days of Calvin and Hobbes and Bloom County. Bloom County is my all time favorite. The author, Berkeley Breathed, is still around with his strip Opus, but it's just not as funny or deep as his former creation.

So what are you favorite comic strips, in print or on-line?

Get Fuzzy is my favorite strip. I especially like Bucky Cat's CATTITUDE!

Well, if we're counting online ones, it'd either be Ctrl+Alt+Del, Video Game Cats, or 8-bit Theatre. In the newspaper, probably For Better or For Worse.

Although since I found it online, I've been reading the Kevin and Kell archives trying to get caught up. I'm to 1998! *falls over*

Print is definitely Foxtrot.

Web is a toss up between Sluggy Freelance, Dominic Deegan, and the recently finished Adventurers!, with Something Positive in a close(if disturbing) fourth.

In no particular order: Retail ::smirk:: , Garfield, Get Fuzzy, In The Bleachers, Citizen Dog (retired BOOOOOO!) and probably a couple others.

I do miss The Far Side, too.

Print: Zits, Dilbert, Close To Home, Get Fuzzy (sometimes), and yes I used to love the Far Side too, Close To Home is really similar though

Webcomics (ok, this is going to be a pretty darn long list, here we go, in no particular order):

Bob and George
8 Bit Theater
El Goonish Shive
Adventurers
RPG World (before it went on eternal hiatus)
Dominic Deegan
Sluggy Freelance
It's Walky! (before it became Joyce and Walky, now it just sucks)
Real Life (basically Penny Arcade, except less well known, less cursing and general vulgarity, and more funny, IMHO)
Misfile
Something Happens (basically Far Side filtered through Monty Python, almost brand new so not much in the archives)
Least I Could Do (not recommended if you're below the age of 18, ignore the fact that I'm very recently only 17 ;) Nothing pornographic or REALLY bad or anything like that, but still pretty mature when compared with these other webcomics. Sometimes it goes a little too far beyond the bounds of good taste, but for the most part, pretty darn funny)
Ctrl-Alt-Del
General Protection Fault (GPF is HIGHLY recommended, I was surprised nobody else has mentioned it)
The Noob Comic

I'm pretty sure there's more, but I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

And in conclusion, if it wasn't obvious enough from that list, I have no life :D

What?? Only one other Bizarro devotee on this board?? Bah!!! :D Bizarro does appear periodically in my local newspaper, so even if he's not cranking out new material, the old stuff's still in circulation.

I too mourn the loss of "Bloom County" and really wish someone would give ol' Berkeley a good kick in the pants and tell him either to lay off the weed or go back to doing a quality comic.

Slightly OT: I was tickled several shades of pink not too long ago when I bought a bottle of flavored iced tea at the local chi-ci market, only to find....Opus!! On the lable of my bottle!! Woo-hoo!! (For those curious, the brand is Honest Tea, and the flavor was Peach Oo-la-long.)
