So, Today was my birthday. I spent most of it in the hospital. before anyone freaks out I am ok. I was visiting.

I don't write much about him but I have a wonderful boyfriend. About 9 months ago we went through a really rough time, I broke up with him and everything. We got back together after he realized how horrible he was being for me.

Today his father had a kidney transplant.

He is doing wonderful. I spent most of my day in the hospital waiting room with everyone. Not exactly how i want to spend a birthday but I did not want to be anywhere else. He was supposed to have it next week. he started getting worse so the moved it up to today.

I did get dragged out to the mall by my BF's little sister. She is 17 and she just couldn't stand to be in the hospital any longer. I don't blame her. Last time he was int he hospital he was in there a month.

What I have to say about the kidney donor is an amazing story.

The BF's mother works at a starbucks. One of her customers overheard her telling a co-worker that her husband needs a kidney transplant. She volunteered. She matched. Simply amazing.

The card she gave the BF's father made eveyone cry. Ill post what it said later. When she woke up her concern was not for herself but asking how he was.

She is a real angel.

Well, belated happy b-day and hopefully your BF's father will be OK, kidney transplants are pretty common and successful nowadays, though.

It's also good to hear that there are some nice people out there.

am about to run off tot he hospital so see him before i go to work, he seemed to be ok last night. he had his usual wonderful sense of humor last night. his surgery took an hour shorter than expected. so things are going very well.

Thank you for posting your story.

Good for you for being where you were needed. I know it can be hard on a birthday to be responsible and grown up. But it says a lot about your character (in a good way) that you did what you did.

Sending wishes to you, your boyfriend and his family (especially the dad)

Thank you for a story to help keep my spirits up this holiday season.

Wow, everything else aside, what that customer did was absolutely amazing. There are still good people in this world isn't there?

Happy Birthday and I hope everyone is feeling better very soon!
