okay....i met this girl from idaho a few weeks back at xxxxxxx suites and we've been talking and chatting back and forth each other...last night, i was talking to XXXXX at work and she asked me to drive to rexburg idaho to see her after my finals...I said , "ummmmmm.......(dead response).......she says, "hello?" and I say ....."yeah im still here..."...she says "so?" i said ill try my best and she responded back to me saying "okay...ill call you later on this afternoon after you take ur nap" she says ....."hey!! ( i luv ya)" i was WOW!! :eek: okay.....ty =) then we hang up ....i need you guys opinion whether to drive to rexburg to see her or not!!! ty for reading and posting......i cant fall asleep because starbucks gave me the wrong coffee so im wired!!! :lol:

So to recap:

A month or so ago, you met a girl who (presumably) lives quite a far distance from you.
You've kept in touch for a bit since then, and she seems nice.
Now she wants YOU to drive to see her.
To add even more awkwardness to the mix: a girl you met in person only once... a month or more ago... calls you and she ends the phone call with "I love you"?

While I lived in Idaho Falls, ID I drove back and forth to Green River, WY (through Salt Lake if I was shopping or Ogden usually) and it sucked ass. And it was for a boy.

It's not worth it.

......But only you can truthfully weigh the pros and cons of driving to Rexburg. (Idaho sucks hardcore, btw)

So if you decided that smokin' hot XXX girl is how you want to spend your time, and I couldn't blame you, go for it.

You don't really say how far it is to drive, or if you have to go over the mountains to get here, but I can tell you with certainty that if you are not used to driving in snow, I would think twice. So far, it has not snowed here yet, but that just means that it is going to hit hard and probably fast. It has definitely been snowing in the mountains, though.

it's about 3 and a half hours, minimal mountains, freeway most of the way (all except about the last half hour). But I'll agree with you, not the best of ideas this time of year, especially sense the first storm is supposed to come next week (damnit, it better come next week).

ok, so smokin hot XXX girl. 3.5 hr drive, possible snow. depending on how much you two connected i would say its an iffy situation. mainly because if you get snowed in and she does pop the psycho button you would be royally fucked. if the snows not too bad go for it. just make sure you have an "out" if need be.

Personally, the drive time, weather, and all that are besides the point.

How do YOU feel about her? You've only met once. How much do you know about her? Smokin hawt or not, you want to be very careful about situations like this.

If you think it might work out between the two of you, I'd say go for it. You never know when something like this may come along again. I believe it is possible to fall for someone instantly and/or over chat, but it is a rare thing.

On the other hand, if you don't feel there is any chemistry there, stop things NOW and back away. Do it nicely, and let her know the reasons why, don't be a jerk about it. MOST women can appreciate that much honesty. Be prepared for her to be hurt, especially if that quick "I luv ya" was sincere.

On yet another hand (hey, Zaphod!) if you're not certain, perhaps it will be worth visiting, so long as the visit is kept non-physical, so you two get a chance to talk face to face and really get to know each other. You've got to be able to control yourself though, even if she gets frisky.

I can't answer that for you. No one here can. The only person who can make such a decision is yourself.

That being said, there are some questions you should be asking yourself to help you decide this question for yourself.

Okay, this girl is hot. Great. Are you going up there to get laid or to enjoy her company? Or both. Nothing wrong with any of these, you just need to know WHY you are going there.

Once you decide why you are going there, you have to make some more decisions. Is this reason for going:

--worth the 3.5 hour drive each way?
--worth the expenditure, in gas, food, and lodging (if she is not putting you up)?
--worth the time off of work, if any?
--worth risking getting caught up there for longer than planned if it snows badly?
--worth putting up with screwy weather?
--worth the wear and tear (and perhaps more, depending on said weather) on your car?

You get the idea. All in all, is it worth it or not? I am not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. I don't feel that it is my place to do so in this situation. But I WILL say that if you think it is worth it and are just not sure what to do, remember this: it is better to regret something you HAVE done than to regret something you HAVEN'T done.

I spent a few days once in Idaho Falls, and loved it! Of course, that time was summer time, so it was definitely different than it would be in winter. But it was enough of a great time where afterwards I stopped making Idaho the butt of so many of my jokes, which it had been for years even though I had never been there. Now I stick to jokes about Texas, New Jersey, and Iowa, where I have been, and Kansas and Nebraska, where I haven't been, and frankly don't want to go. (Sorry Kansans and Nebraskans of the board!)

you hit the nail on the head... during the same it isn't too bad, but idaho during the winter gets cold and miserable... I mean, winter in Idaho makes winter in Logan look pleasant and that was the worst winter of my life... I got frost bite THROUGH my gloves while walking home from work one day :(
