Alright, so we encounter them at work, in our daily lives, around school sometimes (depending on our individual situations), in the mall....

They're those idiotic sneakers with the wheels in the back. Here's your chance to rant about them. I'll start:

At home (i.e. not at school), I work at a grocery store. It's in a very nice part of town - people can afford these contraptions. We have 8-12 year olds running around the store in them. We also have a significant elderly population. Old person + kid on roller shoes = bad combination. I've asked kids repeatedly to quit rolling around the store, and it takes a death glare to get anything quite often. I DESPISE them! One day, a kid is going to go flying around the corner with those, and wipe out an old person. That spells lawsuit for us.

Anyone else?

I've seen them but I haven't witnessed anything bad with them yet. I do believe that kids (or anyone) should not be allowed to use them indoors.

When I was on vacation in Wildwood, NJ, I saw these stupid kids riding them down the ramp in the Boardwalk Mall. After the second or third time, a security guard showed up and yelled at them.

I'm waiting for them to be banned from the boardwalk entirely. Kind of surprised they're not, since skateboards and roller skates already are.

In my supermarket, they along with skateboards and bikes are banned from the store. Just before my week off, a kid got chucked out of the store. heh. Am I bad for laughing my ass off at this?

Ugh, I just about got run over at the mall last weekend by a couple kids on those damn things.

I don't think they have stoppers on the front or back, like roller skates or rollerblades to.

*entertains evil thoughts about shoving said kids into displays and them not being able to stop themselves*

Yes, but if you did that, you'd have to clean up the mess

I've been tempted to grab the twits, rip the shoes off of them and tie the little weasels up with the laces.

Did you there are adult versions made as well? like those will sell.

Does anyone else ever just want to hide behind a corner and just clothesline a kid on one of those? They are so damn annoying. These stupid kids keep nearly running into people and think nothing of it. No, "Oops, sorry," or anything.

They are everywhere!!! Now I'm starting to see signs at entrances of various places saying they are not allowed. But they're there at work all day every day nearly running my toes over.

:(

I HATE them.

I saw way too many of those at the Disney on Ice shows, I was hoping one of them would bounce into the arena wall or just fall.

Actually, from what I have seen, it's pretty easy to stop in those shoes-all you have to do is put your foot down, and you're off of the rollers. Whether or not a nine-year old can do this in time to avoid wiping out the South-Side Syncronized Shuffleboard Team remains to be seen.

Local stores have banned them and they WILL kick you out.

I have taken out my fair share of idiots wearing these. Here is the best one I remember:

Towing a pallet of salt, weighs a little more than 2800 lbs. I get going up to a good rate of speed when suddenly I hear a *thud* behind me. I look around without getting run over by the salt monster I am towing and see a 12 year oldish kid flat on his ass with a shocked look on his face and a sibling on the floor laughing her butt off. Moron had raced into the main isle without looking and ran straight into this monster pallet of salt. Never cryed or anything but he was walking funny when he got up. I asked him if he was OK and he said, "yea" and left. From the looks of it he hit the corner of the pallet and nailed his package just right because I don't know what else will make a guy walk like that.

Come on, you know that they'll still "accidentally"/intentionally fall into something/someone and inflict maximum damage anyway...

I've posted before about seeing kids with those things on the T. Tourist season has more or less ended now so there aren't too many remaining, but I still see some trying to subway-surf with those things  :D

Not if I did it in someone else's store. I said it was evil.

You ARE evil. It's all good though hehe.

I wouldn't have a problem with these shoes in proper places: i.e. driveways, cul-de-sacs, playgrounds, sidewalks, etc. However...they should be used as recreation there the same way rollerblades/rollerskates/skateboards are.
