My wife and I are moving into a house in 2 weeks. She works with someone who lives on a farm and has a bunch of barn cats who are always pregnant. One gave birth a while back and one of the kittens is ready for adoption. I guess she is a Seal Tip. I have never heard of that breed and would like some pictures and any information possible. Thanks.

Erik, seal-tip isn't a breed, it's a type of Siamese. Has to do with coloring. Just type in Siamese cat in your search bar and you should find a ton of info.

The only seal tip cats I have ever heard of are the siamese breed. Here is a link with a pic http://catoftheday.com/archive/1999/March/23.html . The seal point is the one on the left I think, not realy sure mine is a lilac point. If it is a siamese cat you are going to have a blast with it.

Just one thing; the cats are always pregnant? That sounds ominous to me; why can't their owner get them spayed? Constantly being pregnant and giving birth is very bad for any animal.

Typically, people don't get their barn cats spayed or neutered.

I would also be afraid if the cats are always pregnant, worring about inbreding. How deeply inbred are they, this could also cause some serious problems in the cats both physically and mentally. (not an expert just a thought please correct me if i'm wrong)

True, farmers usually want to keep a good supply of cats to keep mice, rats, bugs, and other pests out of the barn and other buildings. A pack of hard core barn cats can take out weasles, foxes and other theiving animals also.

I shouldn't have said "always" pregnant. It just seems like one of them always is. She gives the kittens away to people she knows, occasionally keeping one or two in the barn to keep a healthy population.
I've never had much experience with siamese cats, and I'm wondering about the breed.

siamese are some of the most loveable cats around imo
i grew up whith them and their crossed eyes so blue
i have heard many people say that siamese are mean, in my experiance, nothing could be farther from the truth!
they're easy to spoil and easier to love
they give so much love in return.
there are two ?inner? breeds to siamese- not the color of their points, but the shape of their faces and body's,
the pic on thelink are called "pie face" which are the long and lanky kitties,
and there are the "apple faces" which are very stocky. ours were mostly of the apple variety with tree trunks for legs. but whichever variety you have i know you will have years of enjoyment and love from it

Back in high school I had friends that had barn cats. They had a ton of em, and it really became a problem when they would climb up into the engines of the cars to keep warm at night. Every single day the kids would have to pop the hoods to check for cats before they left for school, work, whatever. And of course, that all started because of one incident......
I'll refrain from going further for the cat lovers. (It was a sad incident. :( )

Yay, kitties! Post pictures when you adopt your kitten.
My cat died a few months ago, so now I live vicariously through other people's kitty experiences. :-)

We've decided to name the kitty Bella. It came down to Bella or Xena.
I would have loved if she caught a mouse and then we could have called her "Xena: Warrior Kitty"

Seal tip is a type of Siamese.
My favorite cat.
Here is a picture of one: http://www.meezer.com/siambreed2.html.
You can find them at the website www.meezer.com.
There is a lot of understanding that is needed when caring for a siamese. They are not your cat, you are there human. You actually belong to them, and they will let you know this, in no uncertain terms.
I grew up with siamese cats. I have had about 4 throughout life. They are a lovable and very vocal breed. If you don't like noise then the siamese is not for you.

Oh, I'm used to vocal cats. Lucy, my 22-year old kitty who died a few weeks ago was a chatterbox.

There's vocal, and there's Siamese. They do make a very distinctive noise, not the same as other cats. If you're not already aware of it, hang out with mother cat for a while. I, personally, couldn't stand it (no offense to those who like the Siamese noise, I'm just one of the many who don't).

The cry of a siamese sounds like a baby crying. I used to have alot of people ask me over the phone if I have a baby in the house.
It was as though she understood me. I would call her name and she would call back like someone saying that they are coming.
They have a strange way of knowing what you are saying, alot of times before you know yourself.
