I can't wait to see it. I'm going with some friends and some coworkers. My friends liked the first one, but they didn't find it as funny as I did. Maybe it's because they've never worked retail...

i just showed my GF clerks (i was shocked and appauled that she hadn't seen it) and now she's more excited to see clerks II than I am (which I've been waiting for, for like...years and salavating at the thought). So yeah, I'm giving up Monster House and Lady in the Water just to see Clerks II. I think its a fair trade. =D

The man of the household and I are going to see it. Hopefully the night it opens, if not, maybe soon after. (Knowing him, though, we'll probably wait until it gets to the discount theater. :( )

Saw a commerical for it the other day. I used to think the guy who played Dante was kinda hot, but now, I don't. Call me disillusioned.

Wow, a movie about SC on my birthday.

I'll end up waiting for it to come out on DVD just like I do with all other movies. Movie theater are just too noisy for me to hear.

I'm not too sure about it. I loved Clerks and all of Kevin Smith's movies (Yes, even Jersey Girl). Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was supposed to be the last J&SB movie. The only reason Kevin Smith made it (I heard) was because Jason Mewes has been clean and sober for a number of years now.

Anyway, I've seen the site, seen the trailers, and I don't know if I'm going to see it in the theater. I have a feeling I'll be disappointed. But I will buy it when it comes out on DVD! I am a fan, after all. ;)

Had no idea Rosario Dawson is in it (saaw it on Jay Leno other night.) Should be kinda interesting!

I'd see it on opening day, but I'll be working at the theatre. I'll probably end up sneaking in 3 or 4 .... hundred times during the night, and go watch it for real on the Monday after.

Today's the 21st folks and the movie is out.

My step son is going to see it with his date 2nite. I am so jealous!

But I told him I want his review on it w/o spoilers.

So I like to ask the same for those that are going today/tonight.

Please keep the spoilers out and rate it from the differences between Clerks 1 & 2.

Thanks!

I can't wait! As soon as my friend gets out of work, we are going. Unfortunately, if she doesn't get out early enough, we'll have to see the 11:10pm showing. And I don't know if she'll go then, because she says she is tired. Women. I'm never too tired to see such a great movie.

if i didn't have a b-day party to go to, i'd be there tonight. tomorrow is still enough time to see it anyway.

*sobs*
My friend has to work late and she says she is too exhausted to go out. Now I'm not going to see it. I'll never be able to find someone to go with me to the 11:10 show. All my other friends are playing poker and my girlfriend is still on her road trip with her Jewish youth group.

I saw it tonight

my advice is be careful when you sip soda and eat popcorn............if you love raunchy, disgusting, sexual humor.......you're going to choke.

Clerks II has become my new favorite funny movie. It beats Date Movie and all the Scary Movies (and it's funnier than all of them put together).

It was a total laugh so hard you cry, your tummy hurts from laughing too much FUNNNNNNY movie.

Saw it last night and to those who believe sequels are never that good, this proves that wrong! Clerks II was freaking hilarious. My stepdad and I have such weird senses of humor. We both loved it.

While I don't know about it's Australian release, Clerks II is the sequel to Clerks, the directorial debut of Kevin Smith, a god amonst mortals amongst us movie nerds/retail workers. The premise of the original is that it follows a spectacularly bad day of Dante Hicks, a 20-something who works at a Quik-Stop convience store, and his friend Randal Graves, who works in the RST Video store next door.

Let us not forget, it takes place in the great state of New Jersey, which is where I live. And the second one takes place not even 30 minutes from where I live. Maybe even 20 minutes away.

i cracked and downloaded it.. (don't worry i'll still see it in the cinemas when it finally comes out here). as with all the view askew films, i liked the refrences to the older flicks and the cameos. it was so good, and a fitting end to the clerks saga

Yes, I saw this yesterday, and was much more impressed with it than I was with Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back. And it's nice to see Smith going back to what made his work so funny. It almost makes me forget the fact that he was involved in the film 'Vulgar', which is my number one most hated film, ever!

I saw it the day it came out here...and I swear, everyone at the theater has NOT seen any other Kevin Smith movie at all. I was kind of let down by it, only because I was waiting for more references to the other films. (I did like it when Walt Flanagan came in at the end of the movie though and asked for a pack of cigarettes...and of course, the only cigarettes they had were Nails). But yeah...I mean it was good, but I expected more out of it. My cousin was the same way too...but then again, we are HUGE Kevin Smith geeks/fans...

It was just depressing that that many people went out on opening day, and hardly anyone in our theater laughed when Randal mentioned Batman, and Silent Bob getting all excited about the prospect, or when when Randal told Dante that he wasn't even supposed to be here today...NO ONE laughed at that...I was the only one. Same thing with the milk maid at the end of the movie...no one knew what that was (I was hoping for Walt as the egg guy instead...but oh well).

But it was good...I liked it...just expected a bit more...more cameos, more references than there were...that sort of thing.

OMG!!! That could quite possibly be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! I've never seen a theater yet where the entire place was laughing through almost the entire movie.

Hell, I liked it so much, I'm finding clips on spikedhumor, like the awsome Onion Ring Clip.

"One ring to rule them all...."

My mom and I were two of about five people in the theater (we ventured out on Saturday which was one of the hottest days yet). Good because we didn't have to deal with idiots, but weird in a way (that was the most deserted theater I had ever been in). I think we were the only people who "got" the milk maid bit (my grandmother has a thing about dates on milk ever since she claimed a gallon she forgot about for a month was "bad when you bought it"...how could a carton you say you bought July 18th have an expiration date in May?!).

The other teenagers were laughing at the raunchy parts, but far as I can recall my mom and I were the only ones who understood the retail-related lines.

I just need to ask, and I don't wanna be offensive, but is po*chmo*key really a racial slur? Because before this movie, I've never heard it used that way, and I heard all the other ones that Randall listed off.
I'm with Randall, I've heard it used, and it was to describe lazy people.
Maybe I should start my own crusade to "take it back"

NightWolf
08-01-2006, 07:38 PM
no no no...too late. We've already started that crusade at work!

And yesterday, my co-worker was standing behind my boss waiting for him to finish talking to someone standing in the doorway. I started bobbing my head and making humming sounds like the boombox and he went....oooooh. Did the lipstick and nipple tweaking. It was hilarious!!! Boss had no clue what was going on.

Ahhh I think I agree with Blas. That has become my new favorite funny movie. I'm so getting it when it comes to DVD.

You know, I thought one of the BEST things about this movie is how little Smith referenced his other works. It really helped it stand on its own in a way Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back didn't. (I enjoyed J&SBSB, mind you, but it was clearly intended for the hardcore fans and no one else.)

If this means anything to you I had no less than 15 calls/people asking for "Clerks" the day after "Clerks 2" hit theaters... and my store was long sold out on "Clerks" several days before (both the single and 3 disc edition).

*hugs his 3 disc edition*

I actually discovered "Clerks" (along with the rest of the Kevin Smith films) thanks to CS. :D

Well, this sucks. This movie is already disappearing from the theaters in my area. My son and I went to see it a few days ago, but my wife didn't feel like going. Today, she and I had a day to ourselves, and she wanted to see it. It was gone from all but one of the theaters in my area, and that one only had a 12:30 show, and... well, I sleep in on weekends, so it was already too late by the time I checked the paper.

Maybe we can catch it at one of the second-run theaters soon...

I can't find a cinema over here with it yet :( A bit of googling says it should be about the back half of this month, though Australia gets it first.

If anyone misses it, feel free to fly over and we can have a viewing party!

Well, the wife finally got to see it! One of the second-run theaters in my area finally picked it up, weeks after it vanished from the main theaters, and after I had given up all hope.

My son and I howled at some of the parts, despite having already seen it. My wife just about lost it during the whole "Silence of the Lambs" spoof.

The really cool part was that this was one of those old-style theaters you don't see anymore, with only one screen, the ticket office out front, and the bathrooms and snack counter actually inside the theater, so that if you do have to get up to use either, you can at least still hear what's going on.

It's funny, I can remember when they were all like that, but she had never been to one of those theaters before. And I'm only 2 years older than she is.
