OK,
I don't THINK I have done a post on this but if I have feel free to delete/move this one
Was having a bitching session the other day with a friend LOL and the topic of my old housemate came up.
Now when I first started living with this girl I soon realised that A: she stank ALOT, B: The reason WHY she stank so much
The reason? She took a shower ONCE a week! THATS RIGHT PEOPLE ONCE A WEEK! And you know what else? When she took a shower she didn't wash her hair, and didn't use soap...nope...she sat there for an hour or more just letting the water run over her...!!!!!
Now this girl ISN"T small! (*EDIT-unnecessarily rude comment)...and she used to sweat allot! So needless to say, it wasn't just her that smelt! It was everything she came into contact with that smelt...
Now of course, I moved out, and I heard later that this problem had escalated...her room smelt so bad that people had to close the door so that they could pass it without retching, and once she took her mattress out side to "air it out" but it only made it to the lounge room, so it "aired out" there for about a week...so the entire house was subjected to her smell, so now every item you visit you can STILL smell her (it's been about 3 months since she did that apparently and you wouldn't be able to tell this!)
SO I got to talking to my friend about her, and we were talking about how people FINALLY told her about this problem, telling her she NEEDS to shower more and that she, her room and most things she touches, smells really bad. That she needs to start taking pride in her self (some people said it in a rather nasty way but MEH the point got across) so anyways...she actually ignored everyone! Like 10 people told her this 10! and she ignored them. Said she didn't need to shower because it's not good for you, that "natural oils" are better for you than soaps and other shite...yeah GROOSSSSSSSS needless to say she still doesn't shower, and the house mates are writing up an eviction notice...they really can't stand the smell! I feel sorry for the poor sod that gets her room after she has gone!

Where did she get her health information?! Natural skin oils may be good for your skin, but the billions of bacteria that have built up from years of not bathing certainly aren't good for you! There are moisturizing soaps and shampoos on the market, many with natural ingredients such as aloe or olive oil that are very good for your skin and hair. This chick is full of s***, and smells like it, too!

when she gets a nice infection from her lack of cleanliness then maybe she will learn her lesson and wise up. Its a hard lesson to learn but it maybe the only way.

Lemme tell you a little story about me living in a Rromany vardo on the banks of a creek for a week. I was at Pennsic (for you SCAdians out there, W20, Court of Miracles, near the Family Swimming hole. Big green bow-top.) . I DID take a thorough shower every night. I also took one every afternoon.(We have hot water and soap down there. :) Mid afternoon, I'd usually take a dip in the creek. So I was as clean as you can get in that situation. Even washed my clothes regularly.
Well, I got BOILS on my ribcage. That's right, big, painful CARBUNCLES. How freaking medieval is THAT? You get in that river, get some bacteria on your skin, then lace yourself into a fitted doublet and sweat under it, and guess what? You get nasty skin infections!
How is it this chick isn't crawling with skin problems?
This sounds like my alchoholic psycho ex roomate. She didn't bathe regularly. She worked in a seafood restaurant, and dated a smoker. Plus, she was a habitual drunk and her sweat stank of booze.
Gaaaah....

A good friend of my sister's boyfriend grew up on a farm in Austraila that was so remote it made Perth look like New York City. "Dirty work" was a way of life, so he was used to walking around with a healthy coat of dirt and grime.
Even after he moved to San Francisco, he never made bathing a priority. For a short while he lived with my sister and her boyfirend, and they practically had to drag him into the shower. Even then, he had no qualms about using the same dirty towels over and over and leaving them on the floor.
He eventually moved out, saving their friendship, the bathroom and the furniture.

They should do her like we used to do a few people in basic training. In basic everyone has to sleep with everyone in one big room. Once we had this chick who wouldn't shower at all. She would sweat through PT and throughout the day but she refused to shower. Well she got so ripe that we had to give her a shower party. You grab her and a hose and a bunch of scrub brushes and hose her down outside and scrub her clean and hose down all of her belongings. All the while telling her how she stank and that if she doens't straighten up, this will happen again real soon. We also pitched a tent out in the front of the barrack and made her sleep there until she understood that bathing was a necessity if she wanted to stay warm. This was in December-January in South Carolina. Needless to say she got the hint really quick.

Yah she got infections, the bottom of her feet are COVERED in blistered and boils, and she kept getting "yeast" infections in regions I will not discuss on a public forum, and urinary infections. She didn't think anything of these things, actually thought they were caused by other things, and went to the doctor about them. I'm pretty sure she didn't tell the doctor that she didn't bath every day..so they never worked out what caused them so often...*sigh* so she never had them properly treated…what’s worse, is this girl actually gets boyfriends, and she will listen to them when they say she doesn’t smell….but not to the rest of the people who have to live/be around her all the time!! What’s even worse…is I hate to think what those guys are getting from her! (she doesn’t use protection of ANY sort!)

I do hope that either no one shared the shower she used or that it was scrubbed and disinfected after each time she used it? Stuff like that is easy to spread in a moist environment like a bathroom.

Raps is right, if the doctors have a nose, I'm sure that they have figured it out by now. She is probably the discussion at the dr's every time she goes in. Nurses and doctors do talk and laugh about there patients. It's not right but they do.
These guys really have some low standards or they are really desperate. Have any of the guys told her flat out that she reeks? Have any of the guys got infections from her and have they traced it back to her? They can report her, and the administration can deal with her. I'm sure there are policies against offensive body odor. If they put her out because of her odor then maybe she will get the idea.
I still think everyone should give her a much needed shower party.

I had a roommate who was kinda weird. He showered regularly, and he himself didn't stink, but all his stuff did, especially his matress and any chairs he used. After he moved out, in the middle of winter, we opened the window in his room, and sealed the door, and let it air out for over a month. You could still get a wiff if you knew what you were actually smelling.

When she said that natural oils were better for you I would have responded with:
"Yeah natural oils may be better for you, but it's killing the rest of us"

Actually my buddy used to do that to someone in college. This guy was named E (Brother of the famed C (http://www.customerssuck.com/index.php?categoryid=10&p2000_articleid=2)). He was adverse to showers and any form of cleanliness. (Apparently, his father build his family a new house in the middle of nowhere, and after learning the cost of putting in electricity and natural gas, didn't bother hooking them up-therefore E learned to make do with cold showers, and cold showers are nothing to savour. E just got into the habit of not showering).
My friend and a few others would wait until 1 or 2 in the morning on the really bad days, sneak into him room (the roommate was in on it, too. Actually, the roommate was the reason they did it-he was a great guy) and bundle him up into his sheets like a giant cigar. They would take him into the shower, turn on the water, and would not let him leave until E was squeaky clean.
