Badfic and sporking

Just wondered, is anyone else interested in reading badfic sporks? If you don't know the term, it means basically taking the mickey out of a badfic in such a way as to show up the bad points of it. There's some sites that specialise in badfic, like Hammer of the Sues for example. I tend to go to this LJ site that does just Harry Potter and LOTR badfic, if I want laughs.

A lot of people might think that it's mean spirited; however, if you're putting out terrible fanfic, you should expect criticism. After all, that's what happens in real life, and there are some truly awful fics out there. The most famous badfics are My Immortal and Celebrian, but there are others. XD

The mocking/critiquing of a Mary Sue character found in any fandom. Often done on livejournal.com. Can be combined with Bleeprin (to relieve the headaches after reading them) and Brain Bleach (to remove them completely.)

Some of it is kind of like MST3K kind of stuff, it's alternately known as MSTing.

I've read a couple, but it was kind of distracting for me. I can't switch focus back and forth between the text real well.

Read some stuff from that site you linked once "Hammer of the Sues." Site was poorly designed, but the Ariana Black series was quite well done for the most part. There were a few times I thought to myself "That's rather ungenerous of you. The original material does things like that quite often." I also felt other material on the site was rather weak. However, I keep meaning to see if I can find more somewhere else. A well done sporking is quite awesome.

I mainly read stuff by smartania, but they've retired from the genre. Their stuff was hilarious.

Funny you should ask that... I wrote a parody of fan fic based upon the buttloads of het fic crap the Clay Aiken fans (American Idol) write denying the fact that he's not straight. They write stuff right out of a dirty Harlequin romance novel. Their fic is a hoot, but hard to read on a full stomach. The worst of it is posted at IdleTard.com (http://www.idletard.com) Idletard is my hero.

Deleterius has loads; there's also, somewhere, sporks of the (in)famous badfics. O.o

Sporks are fun ^^ There was one on LJ for Harry Potter fics...she hasn't done any in a while though. And the BF and I started doing some on our own with personal characters...just sitting and tearing into bad fic. Only way I'll read some of it.
