I'm just terribly frustrated that my PDA (a Sony Clie PEG-TG50) is almost perfect, ALMOST but for three small details:

* Os 5.0 instead 5.2

Why bother? 5.0 doesn't has propper ssl support making gmail use more difficult and expensive if possible at all

* NetFront 3.0

it's very very nice, but it lacks serious WML support among other things. I'd need the 3.2 engine to get all I want. That or run Opera Mini, which I can't since:

* No J2ME engine

I can use old PalmOS 3 midp 1.0 implementation from sun, but I lack support for any real modern midp 2.0 middlet, limiting me a LOT.

And finally

* No 5 way switch.

It's not vital at ALL but some few palm programs have navigation hardcoded to 5-way and it's unconfortable at the least to use them on my clie.

So what's so bad about all this? that none, NO OTHER clie or palm model satisfacts other things this old clie provides and are eternaly confortable. Like for example

* Left top placed jog dial, making this the most confortable ever pda to use one handed, specially for ebook reading at bed.

Form. I do not want one of these horrible expanding palms, what a STUPID idea, it's the worst ever.

All other clies have the scroll set in the most akward possible spot.

of PalmOS 5.2 the virtual graffitti I dislike, of course on my tg50 I don't need this, but NOT because of the keypad. I can sacrifice the keypad since I have a marvelous program for graffiting anywhere confortably, but for it I need a confortably to access button (in my case the back button) which on other clie models has been placed in horrible places.

Sigh, will I never be happy? give me a peg-tg50 with os 5.2 and netfront 3.2 and a midp 2 engine and i'd be the happiest man in the world.

Well I'll continue to cherish my clie as long as I can conserve it.

thanks for listening
