Okay...I think where I left off on my whole vertigo thing was that I went to the doctor and she said that it was the inner ear, and that she didn't think I was going to have any more episodes of vertigo, as they were short ones.
Well, I had 2 since that doctor appointment. One was last Wednesday at school, only 20 minutes before I had to go to my microbiology lab. I was in the bathroom washing my hands (as we're supposed to before we handle microorganisms) and felt that same buzz in my head, and then the room started. I almost ended up having a panic attack right there, thinking that I wouldn't be able to go to lab (and I just saw the instructor a few minutes before) and that I'd fail if I missed a lab (though that's not true). But it finally passed with a few minutes to spare. I was still kind of shaky when I got to the lab. But, we had made yogurt the lab period before, and it was the yogurt party that day. After I ate that, I felt a bit better. But I still didn't drive home. I had my mom get me from school, and she and my dad picked up my car later.
Then on Saturday, I went home early from work, about 45 minutes early, because I was just feeling out of it. It sounds crazy, but it felt like I was out of my head, and that I wasn't there. That same feeling has been going on for a while now. Just relative spaciness, and not knowing where I am a lot of the time, saying the wrong things, etc.
Sunday is when the last one happened. I was in the washroom at work, and then there was that familiar buzz in my head. However, it wasn't as severe this time. It lasted 5 minutes possibly. When I sensed that it was almost over, I got up and out of the stall, washed my hands and walked back out. I was a bit shaky, and it started to go again, so I sat down on the bench, after letting the CSM's know. Then I felt better and went on my register. Then I felt just weird again, spacy and all that. So I told the CSM that I may have to leave early, depending on how I feel. I ended up going home 3 hours early. (My check's gonna be terrible, but I don't want to have to deal with an accident report at work if anything happens...I'd rather be at home if something like that happens).
So I have to call today and make an appointment again, see if I need a referral to an ENT first, etc.
Maybe THIS time they can give me some real answers instead of just telling me that it's my inner ear and I'll be fine. This is strangely reminiscent of an incident I had when I was 17...but that's another story.
