Went to visit the in-laws a few days ago. MIL looks right at me and says, "MyGod! You'[ve gotten gray! You should do something about it girl, you've got too much gray hair!" (This coming from a woman who has grayer hair than me). So, I've decided to go to my nice, expensive, does-a-fabulous-job-so-maybe-paying-through-my-nose-might-be-a-good-idea hair dresser. I'm going to go blonde, I think, I hope. A dark blonde (say, Champagne Blonde color). My hairdresser said he'd do a foil on my hair. I'm not sure. My avatar is a picture of me (from my honeymoon). That's what I look like.

Right now, my hair is most grey/dark brown around the top and at my temples. The back of my hair is longer (just a smidge past shoulder length) and is like a reddish color - I know I'm tired of the red. I don't know about going to my regular color or doing the blond thing. I need some opinions!

Thanks!

It's hard to tell from the pic, your face is so little in it :(

I'd probably go with whatever the hairdresser says, though. He's the pro....

I'd definitely listen to the hairdresser, especially if it's one you've been going to for a time, as he/she is familiar with your hair texture and type and has the knowledge of what process would work best with it.

I did try the color-at-home process once, but I felt the color was a bit dark (looked more like a light brown to me.) From then on, I started going to my hairdresser (and I've been going to her for close to 20 years now) and she always does mine. She recommended doing a medium blonde rinse on my hair, which turned out really good.

Add to that beach sun and since last year, I haven't had mine touched up. Mine currently is more of a champagne blonde. Everyone says not to have it recolored, as it looks really natural.

One day, when I can get some fresh batteries for my camera, I'll take a pic of myself and post it.;)

Let us know how it looks after you have it done - we want to see those Before and After pics:D
