I do as well, but I won't mention mine due to certain things concerning the misuse of artwork. :)

I was reading a thread just now and noticed you or someone else uploaded a new emoticon to the site. The emote in question :ashamed: is copyrighted by a staff member on deviantart.com: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/...ge_scale%3 A5 (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/12516099/?&q=ashamed+in%3Acustomization%2Ficons%2Femoticons&qh=boost%3Apopular+age_sigma%3A24h+age_scale%3A5)
The emoticon :highfive: is also from deviantart.com, here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/...ge_scale %3A5 (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5866984/?qo=9&q=highfive+in%3Acustomization%2Ficons%2Femoticons&qh=boost%3Apopular+age_sigma%3A24h+age_scale%3A5)
Us at deviantart deal with people who steal our art all the time, and even though I'm sure whoever uploaded these to the server didn't do it with contempt, it is still considered theft to the deviant (user). I haven't contacted either of those people because I don't want to see them ganging up and creating crap accounts/trolling on CS just because of a couple of emotes. I enjoy this site and don't want to piss anyone off. :)
Just a heads up.
Since you want to keep intimating things in public, I thought I'd let everyone know just what you keep referring to.
Implicit threats of trolling - and that's how I read it - are not going to endear you to anyone. I've received permission from one person you referred to to use the artwork, The other one has yet to reply.

Exactly why him posting what was supposed to be a PM (read, PRIVATE message) should have been kept exactly that; private. No worries, Giraffe. :)

I thought I'd clear that comments of yours up for everyone, considering that the trolling - had it happened - would have affected everyone.
I'm quite willing to listen to reasonable requests, but veiled threats such as that one are annoying. I've got permission from one person, and the other one has yet to respond. You could have just pointed out that someone else had created it and it would be nice to ask their permission, and I would have done so. Instead I get implied threats and snipes.
I don't play by your rules - I play by mine.

I didn't threaten anyone. I merely stated the rules straight from the TOS. It's not my fault if that is how you viewed my response.

You threw the public gauntlet down on this one CanadaGirl.
Basically, CanadaGirl is accusing us of being thieves.
Instead of nicely saying, "Did you know those emoticons came from DA? It'd be really swell if you asked the artist's permission to use them..." she laid in with the threat of DA members trolling CS over it.
Not that it really matters as Raps has already requested permission and recieved it from one artist and waiting reply from the other as he said.
Don't worry folks... we're not waiting to pounce on your artwork like a bunch of rabid dogs.

Excuse me, "NightAngel" but I never accused anyone of anything. No one but Raps has seen the entire conversation we had and therefore no one can just jump to conclusions like a mad man/woman. I did actually say close to those exact words that you quoted. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore. Everyone who has seen this thread has probably jumped to the conclusion that I'm a troll/bitch/liar/etc, which is so beyond the truth of the matter, so maybe we should all just move on. mkay?
CanadaGirl, I understand that you have some valid concerns about people stealing your work, but if you are so worried about theft of your work, why post it on an internet site where people can find it and do exactly what you are worried about?
I think it was the wording of your post that upset the management. It seemed as if you didn't want to link to your work because you were concerned that you couldn't trust the membership at the CS community. Why hint that you were worried about theft when all you had to do was exactly what saint did? Simply say, "Yes, I have an active account."
I know that, if I was simply a CS member, and not on the inside of things, I would be very offended to read a post like that without having the inside knowledge that you have twice contacted us and accused us of stealing smilies from DA.
The first time, you were polite and gave the benefit of the doubt that perhaps we didn't realize we were stealing.
I can attest to the fact that the smilie didn't even come from that site, as I found it on a page offering free smilies, and have found various versions of the same one many times on numerous pages, including a forum for VBulletin users.
The second time, you sent the PM that Raps has posted here, with the veiled threat that members from that site might come trolling here if they knew we had stolen artwork in our smilies, but that wasn't going to happen, because you were being so magnanimous in that you hadn't told the artist that we had stolen their work...yet.
How wonderful of you.
None of these smilies were found on the pages of DA when they were uploaded to this site.
If they were stolen, then they were stolen by other sites that offer the smilies for use.
I don't think anyone wanted to come off as if they were attacking you, but nobody likes to constantly be treated with suspicion and accusations that they are thieves.
Once it was pointed out to us, we did the responsible thing and tracked down the artists asking for permission. You see, all you did was provide links to the artist's work, rather than their contact info.
I actually did the detective work to track down that information. If you were so concerned about us ripping off your fellow artists, it might have been nice if you had given us the addresses to get in touch with them.
As Raps mentioned, one artist obviously isn't as concerned as you, or he would have replied all those weeks ago when he was contacted.
Now, I hope we can put the whole "stolen artwork" mess behind us and move on.
:respect:
OK, moving on....
saint started this thread asking if anyone had a DeviantArt account, but didn't link to the page.
Hempress has linked to her work.
Anyone else have work that they are proud of and wish to share?
