Why does Mt. Dew in the 20 ounce bottle taste better then the same Dew in the 12 ounce cans?

Difference between plastic and aluminum?
Three more Mt. Dew questions:
Why can I not get Live Wire in 2-liter bottles?
Is Baja Blast EVER going to be available anywhere other than Taco Bell? I like Taco Bell, but would love to be able to get Baja Blast at the grocery store.
Does Diet Code Red even exist any more? (This is more DH's concern than mine, since I don't care for Code Red and can't drink diet beverages that involve Nutrasweet.)

That is a good question. It's especially odd as most sodas taste better from a can instead of a bottle. It's like asking, what happens if you strap a piece of buttered toast to a cat? No one knows. I mean, if cats always land on their feet, and buttered toast always lands buttered side down, what the hell happens? No one knows.

Will Pepsi 1 ever be released in 24 packs? In a keg?

I'm with Seanette. Most of the pop I drink tastes better in a bottle. The stuff in cans tastes....canned.

What happens is you have a series of puncture wounds about the arms, hands, and any other exposed flesh, and the cat's flopping around like mad trying to get the damn thing off. I would test this myself but I don't have a toaster, and the cats already conspire against me when I [I]don't[I] give them cause. :p

I wish PepsiCo would bring back Mountain Dew Pitch Black, the first one, not the sour Pitch Black II. I swear I was addicted to that stuff. Better gaming juice than Red Bull, I swear.

I have found and drink Diet Code Red in cans where I am at:) Although now I am probably gonna get shot at for saying I drink Diet Code Red;)

I always thought that MD in the can tasted better than the bottle.
I have another question for thought here: If you choke a smurf, what color does he turn??

I don't know, but Code Red is the same way.
(Pepsi {canned} is my #1 drink, but I'll indulge myself with a 20 oz. Code Red from time to time.)

That's odd... Dew tastes the same to me regardless of what it's in.
Pepsi is better in the can, Coke from the fountain.
How about this. Why does beer taste better in draft (or poured into a glass) than bottle, or can.

*Diet Code Red* this all depends on the area you are located in. Areas have different bottlers and as such some will produce flavors/sizes that others don't. But yes it is available still.
*Bottles/Cans* I personally prefer cans. Hell I can't even really tell a difference between the two. The only important factor in choosing plastic bottle (ie a 2 litter) versus a can is the expiration date. (More important for diet, the aspartain will turn to crap quicker in plastic) clear plastic bottles have a date of 90 days from date of bottling versus 6-12 months for cans (I know this is true for diet, i'm not sure for regular).
Pepsi 1 is available in 24 packs, it just depends on your area, what sells where you are. If cubes sale good there, then it will be available, if you work at a grocery store or c-store type place that gets soda deliveries ask you pepsi rep (same goes for the diet code red). it isn't available in kegs (no soda is) only Bag-In-Box for syrup, I haven't seen this but I'm sure it may exist at some plant for purchase.
From what I've read (see source at bottom) they will never bring back the first pitch black, it was reformulated to become the second one, which probably wont come back either (if it didn't show up this halloween its probably in the graveyard of sodas now).
The special mountain dew at taco bell will probably only ever be available at taco bell (pepsi owned company pushing a custom made brand for the store).
If you strap toast to a cat and drop it you would have a open faced sandwitch for Alf and he would enjoy it.
If you choke a smurf it would turn white :p
All the info I got about the sodas I picked up at bevnet.com and then went to the bevboards option (mods/Raps Please remove this if i'm stepping on toes, I didn't think this would be a problem, thanks)

I don't know, but my hubby swears that Coke tastes best out of the old glass bottles. I will pick up the small ones in the six packs for him now and then when I go to the grocery.

Hey, don't worry about it-if it's not right, we'll fix it. That's all a part of the job. And there is nothing wrong with quoting a source.
Anyway, I agree with what someone else said-Pepsi tastes better out of the can, Coke out of a fountain. My big questions are these:
1) Why the hell did Pepsi get rid of Wild Cherry Pepsi?
2) What the hell happened to Tahiti Treat? I miss it...
3) If I'm drinking Coke (or Pepsi or Dr. Pepper) why would I want to taste both cherry and vanilla, in addition to the flavour of the pop? That's about one flavour too many.

I enjoy the flavored sodas. One of the sodas I like in particular is Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper.:D

When I was still drinking, I noticed this as well. I liked Labatt's Blue - but only on tap. I liked Shiner Bock (a beer native to Texas) but it was better on tap. Heineken sucks in the bottle - tap it's not so bad.

Why does beer taste better in draft (or poured into a glass) than bottle, or can.
I found this out recently:
Beer tastes funny in bottles because sunlight will activate certain enzymes in the bottles, giving that rotten "skunk" flavour-even the lights in a fridge or beer cooler can do this. Brown bottles block most of the light, but green and clear bottles do not. That's why Sleeman's-which only uses clear bottles-goes to extraordinary lengths to block sunlight entering the bottle.
While cans block the sunlight better than bottles, when you drink from a can, your tongue tends to touch the can, allowing a mettallic taste to enter the mouth.
Drinking draft beer from a tap (or buying cans of beer and pouring it into a cold glass) is concidered to be the way to best enjoys the flavours of beer.
Lagernomics 101 is dismissed!

Really? I thought that stuff tasted like cough syrup. Bleah. The cherry vanilla one wasn't too bad, but nothing's better than plain ol Dr. Pepper. Mmmmm....my crack cocaine....

Spiffy,
Tahitian treat is still available at my local Krogers (Dayton-Cincinnati Ohio area). They keep it near the 7-up/Hawian Punch area. Have a look near where you are.

I have, trust me. It's still sold in the southeastern States from what I can gather, but back when it was sold up here, it was through a special deal with KFC. You could only but it at a KFC or at certain grocery stores. Now that has stopped, and there hasn't been any Tahiti Treat here in about 15 years.
