We've lost another kitty early this morning. Turned out it was one of our tiger striped twins, Lady Blue. My brother found her in the street this morning when he went out to feed the dogs.

Usually, when we lose a kitty, we have the body lie in state on the deck for the day so the other kitties can come up and pay respects. Lady Blue didn't get that - I didn't see her body, but if my brother rushed her to the flower bed, then she must have been in pretty bad shape.

Survivors include her twin, Licorice, her daugher Spud, her mom Miss Monkey-Monk, her nephew Applesauce as well as the rest of the gang (Autumn Mohair, Thumper, Stan, Wendyburger, Grandma, Fetzer, Yogurt, Rover and Possie.)

She was a funny cat. She had a way of narrowing her eyes so it looked like she was smiling. She would follow Shallow around out in the yard and play with her. She also showed manners: she didnt' jump up on tables or countertops. She didn't make much noise - in fact like her mom, she was quiet when she would sneak up on your and want to be petted.

We're going to miss you, Miss Pet-Me.

Rest in Purrs, Lady Blue.

Lay in sunbeams and smile. Chase flies and remind them you own the Universe. Quietly purr on a lap and share happiness.

Enjoy your new surroundings, kitty.

So sorry to hear of your loss, DGoddess.

I know from experience that it doesn't matter how many times you've gone through it before, losing a furry baby hurts like hell every time it happens.

I'll give my 3 kitties some treats tonight in honor of your lost Lady Blue . . .

I'm sure she's having a ball in kitty heaven, getting all the petting she can handle!

sorry about your loss...and yes it does hurt like hell when you loose a furry friend...I even cried when I was watching Animal Planet and they had to put down an elderly cat for incurable health problems....furry friends are like family members so it hurts to loose them.

I'm so sorry. I lost my feline soulmate this Spring to kidney failure due to diabetes, so I know how you feel. Your kitty is now playing in Kitty Heaven.

I'm so sorry. I lost my furry soulmate Princess when I was a young teen and I still cry about it when I think of her.

I've got lotsa cats too.

I thought a long kitty story is in order:

I'm a fellow owner of multiple kitties (living next door to 'chicken lady' who is "allergic" to animals...yes "allergic", but not with chickens!?!) I had 15, but they've systematically been reduced to 4, now those 4 had 6, hehe...I'm growing again!

I loved Bling-Bling. He was born 8-24-2001, he would eat and drink with his paw, he would sit like a person, upright on the couch. He would talk-bark, not meow. He was a lap cat, like a pup...he'd even come, sit, lie down...smart as hell. I used to say he had opposing thumbs...he could open doors. He was an inside neutered male that would go out from time to time.

Haloween 2005, someone put a hole thru him. He was a black bobtail, and I heard sick folk do horrid things on Haloween to black cats. I'd hate to think it was chicken-lady...but after him, the others just disappeared...in 4 mos, I lost 11...

DGoddess. Bling looked like the kittie on your icon, but shorthair...had the same little white spot on the lip...ironic...

*hugs* DG.

Maybe your kitty is playing with Kirby. He was my grandmother's yellow kitty, who disappeared while she was on vacation over 20 years ago. Even though the entire farm was searched, he was never found

If one is allergic to animal dander, it would make sense that she wouldn't have the same allergy issues with non-furry animals.
