She probably clicked on the wrong thing by accident.

Wow! I guess it's pretty easy to click on the wrong things by accident. I don't know, I don't have children and those things still make their way on my computer somehow!

There's a possibility that the child entered in a web address, but got the ending wrong. Anyone remember the White House fiasco?

Normally, I'd say busted, but at 6 years old, I don't think it's that kind of situation. I'd go with either clicking on the wrong link or typing in the wrong address. Like, badassbuddy.com gave me sweet buddy icons. But type in basassbuddyicon.com and it was porn. Figures.

Oh, I have a teenaged son and I can't even BEGIN to tell you of the evils of the internet and teens!
But for a little child- I'm going with the 'oops' factor.

Ok, few things here.
Do you have anti spyware and anti virus installed on the PC?
Do you do weekly PC checkups to scan for malware?
(lots of popups are porn).
Do you have a router installed? It is a hardware firewall.....
Do you have any software for FILTERING websites?
I'd install Spybot and use it for blocking many badwebsites (called Immunize).
Also install some Filtering software to watch over / disallow where the kids go when they're on the pc.
Do you have the PC out in the open to WATCH OVER THEIR SHOULDER WHEN THEY'RE ON THE NET????? That's one of the easiest things to do. Don't let a munchkin be on a pc w/o parental supervision....especially with IM and Myspace crap.
You can control when (time frames) the kids are allowed on the pc by the software, and what sites the kids are allowed to use.
Also make sure the kids's accounts on the pc are NOT admin accounts. That way the kids cannot install any spyware on their own (by mistake).
You have realized there is a security risk : the kid's. Now take control and tighten the ship up; and LEARN these things or else the kids will run circles around you on the machines.

Back in the day when a 28800 modem was king, and 56600 modems were drooled over with interest, I was speaking to a female customer who wanted advice on how to surf the Internet. She'd just got an account and wanted to know how to use it.
I got her email address and promised her an email with useful links. Back then, there were many search engines, and Google had yet to make much of an impact. I was an afficianado of Infoseek. I typed in the URL in the email and realised I'd typed it to infroseek.com - dearie me. It wasn't particularly difficult to correct, but I got curious to see if there was anything at that site URL.
Oh.
They wanted money. There were some very interesting sample pictures, but they wanted money for more interesting pictures.
I'm rather glad I caught that typo. Found out from a chum a few days later that many common misspellings of popular URLs are taken by merchants of the unsavoury.
